Tasty and ready to eat. Great to have when fresh chestnuts not available.
When you can’t get fresh chestnuts these are great. I use as a snack or when making dressing for stuffed meats. Can also use for chestnut soup puréed or added into any other soup or stew. Great product!

Not fresh this time
I have ordered these for years and have never had a problem. Always good and fresh. This year when I opened two packages, they had a bad odor and taste. I did not see any mold but I suspect they had become rancid. Had to throw out. I had to make my brussel spouts for Thanksgiving with pecans instead as no way I could get substitute chestnuts in time. Hopefully just this batch was bad as this is the first time I have ever had an issue. I have always found this to be a good quality product in the past

Tender & fresh.
The foil lined pouches do a good job keeping the chestnuts whole, & very few are halved or crumbled. They’re fresh, tender, moist & mildly sweet like a roasted chestnut should be. Good quality and reasonable price. I like them as snacks but they work good for cooking / recipes that call for chestnuts too.
