The factory drain plug for the 2.7L Bronco engine is considered to be a one time use item, this seems silly to me. Combine that with the fact that when you remove this 3/4 turn one time use drain plug, you had better be ready because all 6.2 qts of oil are coming out within a few seconds whether you have your drain pan positioned correctly or not. The Ronin permanent drain plug solves the issue of a messy oil change and the combined cost of a $13 drain plug with each oil change. The plug is VERY well made, fits perfectly and takes just a few seconds to install during your next oil change. The added bonus is that the insert that allows you to control oil flow out of the pan, also has a connection on the end that allows you to connect a piece of hose and direct the oil flow wherever you like instead of your sway bar, the cross member, your garage floor or all over your hand like the factory plug tends to do. If you're like me and regardless of the smart oil life monitor's suggested 7500-10,000 mile oil change intervals, you change your oil every 5,000 miles, you'll cover the cost of this plug in a few oil changes and avoid the mess and hassle of the factory plug. Because I'm also used to a traditional oil plug, I have been crawling under my Bronco expecting so see a drip or seep from the plug, but it hasn't let me down. Since installing this, I have had a co-worker buy one for his Edge ST and his F-150. I'll be adding this plug to our other Bronco at the next oil change as well because it's just that good. If you're on the fence and thinking about spending the money for this add, trust me, it's worth it.

I have a 2020 F150 with the 5.0 and changing the oil is always an adventure due to the geniuses at Ford making it so the oil flows directly into a sway bar when draining, causing a massive mess unless you have a very large oil catch tub. This plug solves that issue by letting you control the flow rate of the oil as it drains. It also has the added benefit of not needing to be replaced with every oil change, and you don't have to wait for the oil to cool off as much since there's not much risk of coming into contact with it (although you probably should let it cool off for safety's sake). There's also a barb on the end of the piece that opens the valve so you can attach a hose, basically eliminating any chance of spillage. It is a little pricey but the machining is very well done and it eliminates a real headache when changing my oil so for me it was worth it. It's also pretty tight on the install and I had to use a wrench to get it over the detent which marred the surface a bit, but I can't see it anyways so I'm not worried about it. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and makes oil changes way cleaner and easier.

Mainly purchased this to reduce the mess that comes with doing an oil change. The quality of this product is next level and it brings peace of mind knowing that I won't have to deal with a plastic plug that felt it would break every time I took it out. Plug is installed (easily), waiting to be used for the first time.
