Very impressive
I wanted to give this as azelaic acid serum a try because I've tried retinol serum in the past, and they simply don't coincide with my skin type. I have some dry patches around my chin, and the retinol always exacerbated that problem. I'm very conservative when I first try these types of products, as I don't want to cause too much irritation, if it were to disagree with my skin. My experience was that I certainly felt a little tingling sensation, but nothing that I would frame as overly aggressive. That being said, I have to keep in mind that, I did use a very conservative amount at first. Unfortunately, I found that it really exacerbated my dry patches as well, leading to flaking issues, which I find it extremely aggravating. The reason I've given it four stars however, is that I decided to use it as a spot treatment for my oily areas, as it does a really good job of tamping down those overly glossy skin tones, and preventing possible breakouts. That of course was my experience, and with products like these it's very subjective towards your skin type. For my dry areas I prefer a hyaluronic acid serum. So what I had begun to do, is use this in combination with the hyaluronic acid serum, and spot treat the two different areas with different serums. To be honest, that's not necessarily ideal, as I wish I could just use one that would accommodate both different types of skin. I did like the consistency of it, and found that it saturated into the skin very nicely. All in all, it'd be difficult for me to recommend it, as I had mixed results, and feel as though skin products are very subjective. I did like the results on my oily areas however, and perhaps if you are someone with oilier skin, you might benefit from it as well.

Removed Rosecea Redness
Used this for less than a week and it removed my redness on my nose from rosecea. The first night it burned a little bit but each of the next days didn’t feel a thing. Great product.

Irritating
I found this very irritating. My skin isn’t overly sensitive as I use a prescription based retinoids, as well as no issues with 10% glycolic acid. This really sensitized my skin. I experienced redness, stinging and slight peeling. I applied at night and use SPF 30 every day. I’m going to try and reduce frequency to a couple of nights a week and see if that helps, but overall am pretty disappointed

SENSITIVE SKIN: Give it a chance!
I have acne-prone/oily/sensitive/reactive skin for reference. The first time I tried this serum, I HATED it! It felt like a thousand tiny needles were pricking my face. It was so bad that I had to immediately rinse it off. It definitely wasn’t a tingle, it was a full blown fire! So I wanted nothing to do with this serum after that. But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to give it another chance…just in case my skin was extra sensitive in that moment having just come from the shower. I’ve used Azelaic Acid from the Ordinary for years and never had a reaction to the ingredient before. So I gave the serum another chance a couple days later and my experience with it was completely different. I only felt the tiny needle pricking on my open acne spots and the sensation dissipated quickly. It does however dry out the skin a lot around acne, lots of peeling/flakey bits. This serum did a nice job of clearing my skin and reducing the inflammation though. So putting up with the dry patches was really worth it. I do apply a moisturizer on top per the instructions. It works well with other skincare. This serum has a milky watery consistency and absorbs quickly into the skin, not leaving behind any visible residue. A little goes a very long way. I suggest that if you have very sensitive skin like me, to not exfoliate right before applying this serum. I think even a gentle exfoliation is what contributed to my awful first impression. This is a very effective product, just use with caution because it is very potent.

Effective, gentle treatment for aging and/or acne-prone skin.
I have used a lot of different anti-aging products and acid type products on my skin. I have dry skin and I'm in my 40s. I've used retinols before and stopped because it caused my skin to be very flaky. This is the first time I've used Azelaic acid and so far so good. The product feels powerful and leaves my skin looking radiant with reduced lines. Azelaic acid is supposedly equally effective as retinols or tretinoin at treating and preventing acne, but has been found to be less harsh on the skin, causing fewer side effects. This product also contains Green Tea and Colloidal Oatmeal. Green tea is a powerful anti inflammatory and antioxidant and colloidal oatmeal is great for locking in hydration and soothing the skin. This product is like a thin lotion with a yellow white color. It does tingle, but does not irritate the skin. It did not cause a reaction. I have issues with redness, sensitivity and age spots. Hoping this product will help and so far I'm very happy with the results. Would definitely recommend.Great anti aging product for the skin.
