Another great album!
I am so glad I have started listening to Alanis Morissette again- I'll admit, on my first listen I wondered if I felt a little disappointed; given all-time favourites such as Thank You, Crazy, Hands Clean, Ironic, for e.g- but I was being hasty- and now i feel this is another album of wonderful songs that I am glad I have in my cd collection! I do recommend it; and favourite tracks here include Guardian, Celebrity and Empathy. I can'ty say anything else except I hope Alanis will treat us to another album one day! Such and inspirational and incredible talent- naturally gifted, thought-provoking lyrics- enough said - except thank you once again Alanis- unique and pure talent.

Alanis is getting better
Alanis is maturing wonderfully (cue wine cliches). Like about 20 million others, I listened to Jagged Little Pill, SFIJ and then drifted of to do other things. Alanis is the same age as me and it would be silly if she was singing about the the same issues as she did back in the mid 90s, so she doesn`t - she sings about the things relevant to her and the things that are relevant to most people in their late 30s, from relationships to children to ageing and belief and purpose of existence. There`s a lot of variety to the music too Like all good records, this is not immediately wonderful, but after a few listens it seeps into your consciousness and will soon be a favourite. The best song here? Spiral. It`s wonderful; and I love the album from start to finish.

Amazing!
This album is just amazing its just one of them albums that every song is great!I was worried about this album with Alanis going into parenthood and this album being a bit sickly sweet!! But.... Was pleasantly proved wrong! Guardian is an amazing song and composition of music! My Favourites include Guardian, Woman Down, Til you, Empathy, Receive (I may as well just put them all on!!! lolEdge of Evolution!!! This is a tune that stands out on its own, it is absolutely amazing! I feel this is where we all are in evolution and its very apt, a proper spine tingler for me and resonance.I can't stop listening to the album over and over, and its on my phone. I would say Recieve would be a great next release it would be a catchy Radio song.Alanis has gone more contemporary now since SFIJ I love her unique style. She is a wordsmith (I have learned so much from her lyrics!) and with each album I can always relate to it with what is going on in my life at the time! Its like Therapy in a blissful way! ha ha

A great new offering from Alanis :-)
I haven't bought an album by Alanis since Under Rug Swept - I'm so glad I bought this one. A good mix of Rock/Pop/Alternative with choruses that are great to sing along to while driving. The only thing I find a little strange is that Alanis chose to use two different producers on this album - it's easy to recognise which songs were produced by who, as the song arrangements are very different (one a more pop style, the other a more alt-rock style). Having said that, the songs are so great they carry themselves so the album still flows nicely. Alanis' lyrics are again deep, thought provoking but straight-talking.A gutsy album that makes you feel good :-)

As a fan of Alanis for 20yrs I was a bit disappointed. I've listened to it three times so far and I really like two or three tracks but even on those I get the impression that Alanis was bored and going through the motions. I think she should have waited for more inspiration but appreciate she might be contractually obliged to produce albums within a certain time limit. Still like her lots though. More integrity than most.
