Very glad I bought them, great investment for the tools. No more refrigerant burns from high pressure in the hoses, struggling to get hoses off. And a great addition to the set is the field piece micron gauge. Guarantees no leaks and proves the holding under 1000 microns or less in ten minutes of letting it sit. I put the micron gauge on the high side, and pump directly from the saturation line. Proves every time

I have bought and returned many similar devices; they either leaked, or were grossly inaccurate. This one worked straight out of the box. It's wireless capability is just a bonus to me, but is very welcome.

It's a field piece what more should I say. Great product, no leaks, looks good, holds vacuum well, water proof. As a Journeyman HVAC mechanic/ installer, this tool is a must have for the work truck/ tool bag. Great company, i use a lot of their products because they hold up to this work environment. I highly recommend this product and every product that they make.

I own a CPS VG200 vacuum gauge and it seems that the sensor needs to be cleaned with denatured alcohol after every use and I have grown to distrust its reliabilty. So I ordered the Fieldpiece vacuum gauge and I have used it twice thus far to pull a vacuum on 2 recovery cylinders. 1. The field piece appears to be accurate. 2. There is no leak or crazy changes during the evacuation process. 3. The decay test was excellent. 4. The wireless feature is very helpful. You can set the auto turn-off feature for 1 hour or less, or just disable it and keep monitoring the progress of the micrin gauge from indoors. Two AA batteries came with it. 5. The wireless feature DOES NOT work within the 1000 feet range. It may work if there are no walls. It worked for me at about 30 feet distance from my garage to the farthest point inside my house, but stopped picking up the signal when I went to the backyard. 6. By comparison to the CPS micron gauge, I think the Fieldpiece is by far more reliable. I changed the gasket on the CPS vacuum gauge and when it reaches 150 microns the reading starts rising again beyond 500 microns on its own, and even went beyond 1500 microns. I cleaned the CPS VG 200 sensor per manufacturer's instructions and changed the gasket, but it still was irratic. I switched to the Fieldpiece right way and the problem did not reoccur. 7. I do not find it necessary to spend more money on another brand or gauge, just because the other brand has more bells and whistles. Invest in other tools you need. I have used an Appion valve during the process, a Robinair 4 cfm vacuum pump with a a ballaster and an isolation valve, and two 3/8 hoses. The hoses were connected to a Yellow Jacket vacuum manifold. Take the time to play with the menu and insert the batteries with the positive polarity facing up towards the back cover. As I prime member I received the gauge on a Sunday, which I ordered on a Friday evening. The Amazon driver did an excellent job in terms of texting and the safe delivery of the product. Fieldpiece is a great company for HVAC equipment. Top notch stuff. This vacuum monitor is pretty good, however there are a couple little things that would REALLY help! First, the monitor DOES NOT indicate that there is a vacuum until it gets really low. My CPS monitor shows a vacuum is being drawn right away, darn near atmospheric pressure, and it starts to read around 85000 microns. So you can see right away that it's working. The Fieldpiece unit DOES NOT give this indication and didn't start to show a vacuum reading until about 10,000 microns. The display just sat there blank. I thought it was broken at first, and started all kinds of troubleshooting to figure out why i wasn't getting a reading. Finally I put BOTH of the monitors on the line and the CPS was reading great, but the Fieldpiece was still blank. i was getting ready to return it as broken when it finally started reading. So that is a problem, as it would be nice to know if there is a problem with the vacuum right away, instead of waiting for a long time only to find out it's not working at all. Second, The display time out should NOT turn off if there is activity. If the vacuum is changing, the display should stay on. Perhaps it should stay on constantly under vacuum and only use the auto shutoff at atmospheric pressure. The same could be said that the unit should turn on automatically when a vacuum is formed.
