Kirkland Organic Virgin Coconut Oil - 2.48 kg Tub

I use to get painful herpes blisters on my lips. I read that coconut oil would kill out the herpes on contact so I put coconut oil on them and they dried up quickly. So I got the idea that if I consumed coconut oil maybe I could kill out or at least lower the viral load in my body. So I started eating coconut oil in everything I could think of, good to fry your eggs in the morning, good with cocoa, I don't care for it in my coffee but some people put it in their coffee. So after a year or so of doing that, I stopped getting herpes outbreaks on my lips. I still fry my eggs in coconut oil every morning. It may be close to 10 years since I started consuming coconut oil and I have not had a serious herpes outbreak in years, maybe for the entire time I started consuming coconut oil or almost that long.Some cautions: too much coconut oil will make you have loose stools. too much coconut oil will make you hot, like a hot flash. I don't exactly how much is too much but I would not go over a Tablespoon of coconut oil a day to start with. Start low and gradually add a little more until you find your limit. Do not consume coconut oil a couple of hours before you go to bed. It keeps me awake. Hope that helps.

I usually purchase unrefined coconut oil to use as a moisturizer and/or in quick and simply body products that I whip up. Love the way coconut oil makes my skins feel. Just a couple of tips if anyone is interested: After shower, DON'T dry your body off yet (but put your hair in a towel first) and take small portions and apply to wet skin. Play around with how much works for you. Wrap an old t-shirt around your shoulders/neck if you want to do hair or pat dry your face before using other products prior to makeup application, etc. while giving your skin time to drink up the oil and *air dry* from the shower for a good 10 to 15 minutes before patting your skin dry with the towel - Also, I've mixed about a tablespoon of food grade/cosmetic grade vitamin C powder in with 3-5 cups of coconut oil (melt or no melt) and use it as a brightening oil for my face - IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. For me personally. It may be a bit 'grainy' feeling, but that didn't bother me as much. In my opinion, melting and mixing to the point of there being no 'grain' from the Vitamin C powder, reduces the affects of the vitamin C. :)

Delivered with a cracked bottom, you could see the box it was shipped with saturared. Unfortunately, I was not home when it arrived to reject delivery since the item is not returnable! But I do love the brand, the size and the oil, so took a chance and kept it for use.

This is a huge tub of oil I love to use for moisturizing my body and hair after a shower. Stays liquid in warm months but in cool months it solidifies and you’ll have to warm it up. It can be used for cooking too of course or even a spread.
