Great car camping tent for two adults and two large dogs.
I'm not suprised I'm giving this tent 5 stars. I love Kelty tents for car camping and this has improved our experience greatly from our previous 3 person tent. When we got a second retriever, we knew we'd need more space, this fits 2 humans a blow up mattress and two dogs easily and comfortably. The large vestibules provide space to store items out of the morning dew. We haven't faced a big rain storm, but so far we have stayed dry. The tent is easy to put up and take down, and comes with a great storage bag that we can get the tent back into and add in the footprint. Not lightweight by any means, but a fantastic tent that we can stand and move around in.

Did everything it said it would!!
Definitely a great buy!! Easy to put up, took me 20 min alone on my first try in my living room and 15 min with my partner at camp, and stood up well to light-moderate rain and wind with no issues. The vestibule is wonderful!! Both the tent and vestibule are so spacious, tent could def fit 4 people comfortably plus a big dog or 2. We laid down a small tarp in the vestibule to act as a mud room when it began to rain but also could easily be used as storage to keep your stuff from prying eyes. The fly was insulating, even just the base tent was insulating, and the whole tent looked great too, just like the pictures. There are two doors and both are accessible with the fly on for great ventilation no matter the weather. Definitely invest in the foot print!!! If you just use a big tarp that is larger than the dimensions of the floor and it rains…. You will have a bunch of water pooling under the tent. Also the floor is waterproof but thin and you don’t want to risk a rip on a sharp rock or stick.

Rumpus 6
I bought a used 'like new' tent from a supplier for $237. When it arrived, it had two broken tent poles and missing the tent-dome storage shelf. I like the Rumpus 6 design, just wished the supplier had been more thorough/honest with their 'used-like new' assessment. Things I like about the Rumpus 6: I can stand straight up and have plenty of head room, it's 6 ft at the dome; it easily sleeps 5-6 people, it's footprint is 9ftx10ft; the expanded vestibule with the extended fly provides about an additional 4 feet of storage/activities, the tent pole sleeve-footings make it easy to set up alone, the tent comes with a convenient generous sized duffle bag that you don't have to squeeze the tent into when packing. The tent is light to carry. The color scheme looks cool. Things I could see improvements on: The fly pole goes inside a sleeve instead of attaching to exoskeleton tent hooks like the structural poles, making it hard to set the fly up alone. The fly pole doesn't have sleeve footings to anchor into like the structural poles, it just rests inside two eyelet loops on the ground. The fly pole has aluminum caps with the shock cord melted inside of them which makes it very difficult to remove the caps to replace broken shock cord, instead of the plastic caps like on the structural poles. The tent has no windows/airflow once the fly is on which makes it stuffy (there is one small 6inx5in inlet high on the fly for apparent airflow, but it is sadly inadequate), perhaps the fly vestibule door and the side walls could have a roll up mesh window... The duffle bag could use some compression straps/belts on the outside to take up slack once the tent is packed.

Great family car camping tent
I have taken the Kelty Rumpus 6 on 15 camping trips since I purchased it. Pitching the tent: The tent itself is easy to pitch for one person (I'm 5'4") because of the Kelty Quick Corners. The rain fly is a challenge to put up with only one person; the help of a buddy makes the process much smoother. It isn't easy to thread the fly pole through the fly sleeve because of the length of the pole. Space: I love that you can walk into the vestibule and tent without bending over. It is also convenient to stand up inside the tent. The vestibule is great for storing our camping chairs, and offers a shaded place to sit and relax. I use this tent to camp with two adults sleeping on two Bass Pro Eclipse Cots. We often bring our 50# coonhound mix and 70# bluetick coonhound as well. So there is plenty of room for the four of us. I've also loaned it to a family with two adults and two children. Weather: This tent survived two thunderstorms with torrential downpours and two rain storms. Each time, the inside of the tent stayed completely dry, and I never worried about it blowing away. I use a tarp or footprint under the tent every time I camp. Make sure you stake all the guylines during storms. The guyline storage pockets are a bonus! The no-see-um mesh prevents condensation from building up in the tent. It also protects from the wind when the rainfly is not used (which surprised us). I use this tent predominantly in the Midwest U.S. but have also traveled through New England U.S. My camping season with the tent is April through the beginning of November, with temperatures ranging from 35 - 95 degrees F. In the summer, the temperature in the tent gets pretty high when the rain fly is up. We use tent ceiling fans to circulate the air. Wear & Tear: I use a footprint under the tent and a tarp inside the tent to protect the floor. This tent has experienced minimal wear and tear. There is small tear in the door caused by my coonhound and one in the fly. Both were easy to repair. The no-see-um mesh is also starting to fray in a few areas. The metal grommet for the fly pole also fell off after a few uses. I'm sure I can replace them, but I have not tried yet. Overall, I am happy with how the material is holding up. Overall, I strongly recommend this tent for your car camping trips.

It's nice and big
It's a nice big tent, can put two cots in it and still have room to stand up and put your pants on. We are 'older couple' campers, so don't appreciate the two-three person tents much anymore. It is airy and light and mostly simple to put up. It is light-wieght to tote. Two large entries are great, the vestibule is wondeful for storage, seats, and getting out of the rain, (although I am looking for extra poles to hold the awning up). Have used it three times and but only happy with one out of the three times. That was a fair-weather trip, not too windy, not to rainy, not to cool. So I would call it a nice tent for nice weather. My dislikes are three fold: the rain fly does not cover the foot of the tent on the small entry, so... rain comes down to the foot of the tent then teapots to under the floor but on top of the foot print...so Big Rain? Big Wet Spot! the set up video didn't clearly show this and maybe the Rumpus four does cover fully. In windy conditions it is pretty floppy so makes a good amount of noise and motion however the inner tent under the fly is pretty tight, so tight the zipper is difficult to close with out using three hands ( I am sure this will tear out at some point) and there could have been a mid point tent stake loop to tighten it up a bit too, and thirdly the very sturdy tent poles have metal couplers that have sharp edges and the shock cord was cut or frayed by the third time we used it. So while we really like it as a large, airy, and open tent but I think I'll keep it for the grand kids to use in the back yard

Great tent!
Great tent! I had to set this up by myself in the dark the first time I used it (and a light rain shower). Very simple. My only hiccup was that I didn’t realize it was the clip straps that are color coded until I was done setting up. I kept looking for the color coding on the corners. In the end, I had the tent backwards under the rain fly, but used the grommets on my tarp, and that worked fine for the weekend. The tent offered plenty of room on the inside. I like the front and back entry options. We slept with the front and back part of the rain fly open, which created good air circulation for us. Doors were easy to open and close with high-quality zippers. Loved that there were four inside pockets for storage. Also appreciate the 4 overhead loops to hang things like lights and fans. I hope the footprint is in stock soon! I’d love to ditch the tarp I’ve been using.

Not the quality I would expect out of Kelty
This was my dream tent! Or so I thought! I have owned this tent for a little over two years. I have taken it out 6 times. A full fly in Florida is warm...but I know that and have a fan. It would be nice if their was more ventilation, but there isn't. There are ways around it which I'm happy to do bc a full rain fly in Florida is important to me. The front vestibule is amazing! Probably the best feature of the tent! Really going to have to keep that at the top of my specs when looking for my replacement. The back vestibule is much smaller, but when left open at night, it is one of the ways to beat the Florida heat if there is no rain in the forecast. It's also a nice escape for middle of the night bathroom runs! Build is easy and breakdown is simple. The floor sleeves for the poles rather than a grommet system is a very nice feature I will miss. The bag is also a bonus. It is very easy to pack everything into the bag at the end of trip. There is no fighting with bag to make it all fit! However, this tent leaks! I even ordered the Kelty Rumpus 6 footprint for under the tent. It still takes on water through the floor. Since the first time it happened on a rainy trip, I added a tarp under the footprint. Nope. Still takes on water when it rains. It comes up through the footprint, through the floor of the tent. Anything in the wet zone [blankets, mattresses, etc] also get wet. Really no excuse for a higher end brand like Kelty to have a leaky floor. Additionally, even when properly staked out - and there are A LOT of stakes with this tent when staking out all the guy lines - if it's windy, the tent is abused! I have warped poles and small tears in the mesh after one windy day. And although I have reached out to Kelty and been given a "ticket" number, their customer service sent me an email on how to file a claim for my air mattress. What? Either bad AI or a total lack of reading skills. Either way, not at all what I expected when upgrading to Kelty. My other Kelty products have been great, but I will NEVER buy another Kelty tent!

So far, I love it!
So far, I love this tent. It is very spacious and the vestibule porch is amazing! It has been rain tested in both light rain, and a moderate storm, and I have not noticed any leaking whatsoever. It's been left up in some moderate to high winds, as well, and stayed standing. There was some condensation on the first morning I checked on it, but it wasn't too bad. It's not been hot enough to truly test condensation, yet, though, in my opinion. That said, I'm just excited it doesn't leak during rain, stays standing with wind, is spacious, and has a porch. The tent was fairly easy to set up. I did it by myself. I have the 6 person version. I'm only 5'2" so the rainfly portion was a bit difficult for me to get on, and likely quite comical for my neighbors to watch, but a taller person may not have as much issue with that. It would be easier with two people to set up the rainfly portion, probably. I found the tent portion to be easy enough on my own, overall, though. The poles are fiberglass, and they do shed some, so that sucked. I got some in my hand, and I hate that feeling. I used to do color guard in school, and my flag poles had that same issue. That part is probably the only real negative for me, on this tent, however. I haven't done a real camping trip, away from my property, yet, but when I do, if something changes, I'll update this review. For now, though, I would absolutely recommend this tent. I have added a ton of photos, as well.
