I'm 6'2 and decent shape, but couldn't manage to have them slip or break when trying to pull them apart, a good sign for their intended use! The material of the straps seems to be some sort of tightly woven (I'd guess) nylon? it feels like the kind that you get on a backpack, but much tougher and lasting. The box had screws for each strap, so 2x furniture screws, 3x wall screws, a bunch of differing VESA bolts (my TV still had its bolts in, but one of the bolt sizes in the box fit the same). All of that x4, 1 set for each strap. The plastic felt tough and durable as mentioned above, I couldn't break it through stretching and pulling. The Stud Finder was an awesome addition, better than going out and spending $20+ at the hardware store for an electronic one - does what you need, just have to remember to drill a little lower/higher/aside than the screw/bolt it's detecting in the wall stud. The pencil also a nice addition, since there's never one around when you need it at home! The way I have it is the TV to wall version, as this best suits our needs and puts my mind at rest with a dog and kids about. I see no reason why you couldn't do this and also attach the stand to the wall, just wasn't what we needed since ours is flat bottomed and secure already. While my husband and I are not very handy people, I feel these were more difficult than they should be to install. Took us over an hour to install them last night. The directions seemed vague, but was very happy the stud finder was included. That was very handy. Just remember to drill right above or below your magnetic connection, because otherwise you will try to drill right into a screw/nail head. Initially, we wanted to attach the straps from our TV to our stand. We did not want to put any unnecessary holes in the walls. The top holes on the back of our TV were up high and the straps weren't long enough to reach the back of our stand. We just bought a 58" Samsung. We thought about returning them and looking for new ones, but didn't want to risk the safety of waiting for a new order to arrive. We found it difficult to line up the studs with the TV, since the stand is pulled far away from the wall for us to get back there and work on this. Overall, we did get it accomplished and I do believe it will work and be very safe, it was just a frustrating process for installing. I would still recommend the product, but wish the directions were more detailed and the straps were longer for larger TV's.
