Bioflect® Compression Shorts with Bioactive Raised Massaging Knit for Support and Comfort

Last fall I was diagnosed with lymphedema in both legs from thighs down into toes. My lymphedema therapist specifically recommended Bio Flex compression garments as part of my long term treatment program. I was on the border line between a 3xl and a 4xl and bought one of each size. After trying both on I opted to wear the larger size. My initial purchase in early spring 2023 was the leggings but found the combination of 20-30 mmHG knee high compression socks and the leggings was uncomfortable. I switched to the shorts and it was a good solution. Overall the garments are comfortable and for me a better solution than thigh high compression stockings which I tried. I wear them every day but do not sleep in them. I would like a little more support in the inside upper thigh. They are well made and holding up well. I have not had any issues with weak seams in the crotch. One pair has a few pulls on the side from where I snagged it. I consider that normal wear and tear. The garments are easy to care for, just throw them in the washer on delicate cycle with a small amount of soap and hang them up to dry. I usually wash 4 pairs at a time and have found they dry quickly. I have 6 pairs of the shorts in black, one pair of black leggings, and one pair of the flesh colored leggings. I do not like the flesh color because it is too pink. Since my spring purchases, I have lost 22 pounds and am solidly in the 3xl range. The 4xl continue to provide good support and I am holding off buying the smaller size because I need to lose about 20 more pounds before hip replacement surgery. When I meet that goal I should be down to the 2xl size range.

I needed to wear thigh compression for 4 weeks following a medical procedure, and out of a few different types, these shorts were my favorite. They are stretchy enough to get on without a struggle but offer enough compression to be effective. There is no bunching or rolling around the knees or waist. I was able to wear it under leggings with no visible lines and it was comfortable enough to wear all day long. Other brands I tried were more uncomfortable or too tight, making me eager to take them off. I also found other types showed more under clothing. These fit me true to size and can be machine washed without damaging. Definitely worth it for the price.

It's OK -- one of few compression short options intended for medical use. However, I found the abdomen/stomach area to be too loose compared to the thighs (so sizing down wouldn't work) for abdominal compression for POTS. Thigh compression is good. The material is on the thicker side, which is probably good for durability and wintertime but still too warm for me. Fabric was stretchy and fairly comfortable. I didn't like that it came out of the package with a very strong artificial perfume/fragrance that I couldn't get rid of even after washing and was both irritating to the skin and on a sensory level. Kind of a strange choice for a garment for a medical/health garment, don't know if they were covering up some other chemical scents? Might be a good fit for you if you feel like you have a larger stomach-to-thigh size ratio.

This review is for the BioFlect brand. These were purchased for lymphedema and boy do they work!! Were recommended by a lymphatic specialist and came overnight from Amazon. Patients 3 pounds of fluid over night!! Highly recommend. Washed in a laundry bag and hung to dry. Excellent product.

Wish I'd bought these sooner! I've been buying cheap imitations for years, meanwhile my lipedema got worse. To the point it is now painful. These are comfortable and long enough to cover my entire thigh. Pain is gone. They look smooth under dress pants. Just bought another!

These compression shorts are so comfortable. Got them because I am a nurse and I feel like my thighs are killing me after my 12-hour shifts. Have tried compression leggings in the past but they didn't work because they were too tight above the knee into loose below the knee or were really restricting / just didn't feel comfortable. These are the perfect feeling of compression without being too tight and with my new properly fitting compression socks it will give me full coverage.

These shorts emit a very strong chemical smell that made me feel ill. Washing did not lessen the smell. Bioflect declined a return/refund stating that they are aware of the chemical smell and expect it wear off after more than 4 washings. I do not expect a health product to make me ill. If you are sensitive to chemicals and chemical smells, avoid these compression shorts.
