They aren't the insane overkill quality of the extremely expensive bags, but they are higher quality than many of the other bags I've found on here. The zippers are great, the materials are very nice as well. I also suggest everyone not take "sand" too literally because sand is horrible in any bag like this. As other reviewers suggested, I put sand in quart sized plastic bags which I sealed and then put the sealed plastic bags into the sandbag containers. Double zippers are a bit tricky to close when bags are full but not a problem since they will stay filled. I bought a bag of smallish landscaping stones from Home Cheapo and filled up the sand bags. I use one to hold down my music stand on gigs and while busking in Chicago. This is important, as my music stand has a shelf attachment that holds my Bose T1 mixer, DI box, iPhone, iPod touch, etc.. My stand has blown over a couple of times with 30+mph wind gusts and hurt some of my equipment. This is no longer a threat with a bag weighing down my stand. My stand will tremble a tiny bit with a huge wind gust, but it isn't going anywhere. I've only been using them a month, but they seem to travel well and are sturdy.
