Where are they hiding all the bodies!
I really wanted to like this more than I did. I felt that Lizzy Ford had a great original idea around the concept of supernatural cultures - but the execution just wasn't as good as it could have been. I loved Zoey as a strong independent female lead - I really bought into her - the best part of the book!I read fantasy knowing I have to suspend belief to some degree, buying into the notion supernatural races are hidden among us. I just can't suspend belief when bodies are piling up like lumber and women are disappearing faster than gazelle when a lion is around. Where are the cops!!! My biggest gripe is with the whole incubus society - the Cambions are the bad guys - killing women with sex magic right and left. They are also included on the Incubatti council (the supposed good guys). In other words - the male protagonists are running (and breeding - as the Cambions are the product of them knocking up human women) an organization that actively promotes the killing and raping of women - but the author portrays them as compassionate, sensitive dedicated monogamists.Lastly you would think a book about Succubi & Incubus would be a have some serious slippery action - there is some, but it's pretty tame. the author makes an attempt to "spice things up" by adding some anal - but it comes off flat. The story (mainly Zoey) hooked me just enough to buy book 2

AMAZING! Unexpected!
This is the first book by Lizzy Ford that I read and I loved it!It was all very fun. I love succubus and incubus stories. Zoey didn’t seem to have a lot of character development, but she is kick-butt and sassy. I know the sequel comes out this week so I am hoping there is more character development in the sequel. How the society works is a little confusing for me. I actually have read this book twice, but I am not totally clear still on how the society works. The depth of the plot was really great though. It was all very complicated and intricate that I think just speaks to the quality of writer Lizzy is. I have to say at first though it seemed like there should have been books before this one. I thought I had missed a book, but nope. I really want her to write novellas at least for some of Zoey’s friends and their relationships because that was where I felt I had missed something.I liked our hero. He was fun. Very alpha and demanding. I liked that he and her both ran from the relationship instead of just one. However he resigns himself to the relationship faster which I liked. Her personality is to fight which she does, but I wish she would have accepted it sooner. The excessive drinking was also worrisome. I know the girls partied and drank, but to do that much was a little odd to me. I just didn’t know why you would want to fight while intoxicated or even get drunk every night. That just seems like it would get old. Also when she loses memories she isn’t worried at all when she should be. There was just a lot of nativity in Zoey and her friends at times that was annoying. I just didn’t like that they didn’t question things more even though I can understand why they don’t.Really excited for the sequel which releases next week!4.5/5 stars

Interesting, but not enough to buy
I find it frustrating to read a book that has potential, but has been so poorly edited. Misspelled words, poorly written sentence structure, misused words, and even a nonexistent word I had to look up to be sure of my supposition. I have been reading books my entire life, and the number of lazy authors and nonexistent editors are setting my teeth on edge. Ms. Ford, do yourself a favor, get a PROFESSIONAL EDITOR, and stop trying to charge for substandard writing. Or just make them all kindle unlimited, where apparently no one cares about whether or not you can actually write. That having been said, I found the characters and storyline engaging, it was unfortunate that the mistakes got in the way of what could have been a fun read.

A rogue review....
While I had a hard time connecting with the characters in the end I liked the overall story line and the author's writing. I was expecting to not like it based on the reviews I've read, but was surprised when I ended up liking it. The main character is Zoey, a half-succubus created in a lab by the succubi to kill half-breed incubus's known as Cambions. The Cambions are the main bad charters who main goal is to torture human females and feed off of their sex.The only really negative thing I could think of was the over-use of the term sex-magic. Yes I get they're incubus and succubus and sex is their thing, but "sex-magic was in every chapter, and mentioned more than once in most of the chapters. Also I find it hard to swallow the amount of dead bodies piling up in this book in any city, let alone the nations capitol without the human's knowing anything about this. Because the whole Incubus and Succubus worlds are supposed to be kept secret. Yet Zoey and her team go out regularly and end up killing at least two or three a night. I get they're bad guys but still the bodies are piling up and human's aren't supposed to notice? Especially after one scene when Zoey kills like 25-50 in one evening. True it was a special situation but still...where are all the human's during this battle taking place out on the open streets? Some argue that the ending is a cliff-hanger. I can see that point-of-view but honestly I believe for this particular story-line the book ended in the perfect spot...expecting of course there should be at least one other book in this series (which there is). Yes, it is is sort of ended what would appear to be the middle of a building plan but really it's ending one part of Zoey's life and just giving a glimpse into the next part of her life. Which if you're planning a series is a good spot to leave one book and transition into the next if you ask me.But all in all I liked the author's writing, and I liked the pacing of the book well enough to finish it and am seriously debating if I want to continue and read book 2.

Great 1st book
I’ve read both books. This book the 1st is great absolutely loved it great story great characters sexy bedroom scenes “oh my” couldn’t put the book down strong women alpha men. This book has a story action sadness love and sexy times it has it all. But. I was really looking forward to the 2nd book and it was bad. It felt it had been rushed a race to the finish which is a shame as this 1st book is great. These characters could of had a book each of their own and would of made a brilliant series and time was taking writing each book. A real shame and if you read this it’s a cliff hanger ending meaning you’d have to waste money on a bad 2nd book to know the ending

Great story !
A very different take in PNR genre regarding Succubus and Incubus. It’s fast paced and the story has its good share of romance , twists and great strong characters . Can’t wait to read the next one as this one ends at a cliffhanger !

ZOEY ROGUE
Zoey is not what she seems. A young girl who is unruly likes partying, drinking and killing Sucabattis who make themselves look like humans and rape and kill young girls. Zoey has supernatural powers and with the help of the rest of her tam Team R she sets out to kioll all of these. Declan who is her sole match os a member of the Subbatties and feels that if he can control her he will make an alliance and carry on the carnage. In the mix of this book is a girl called Crissy a human who she has aved and feels that she needs to return the compleent. Also her bouyfriend Eric who has jsut proposed to her. This is a very good book and I am waiting for the next book which I hope will come out this year.

Stands out from the rest
I've read my fair share of books in this genre, and this is my favourite by far.The characters are unique and interesting, just the right combination of believable (fantasy element notwithstanding!), flawed and yet worthy of empathy. The plot has page-turning pace and, like all good first books of a series should, ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger that makes the the reader eager to pick up the next instalment and see what happens next. The intimate scenes between the main protagonists are passionate but not exaggerated.Overall, a refreshing change from the norm, and a series I will continue to read. Thumbs up, Lizzy Ford!

Disappointing
I've never read a Lizzy Ford book before, and was looking forward to starting a new series, sadly I'll never know what happens in the end...unless it's a freebie. The relationship between Zoe & Declan wasn't plausible, three days? Really!!?, the sex scenes were poorly written, in fact I ended up skipping past them. From other reviews I understand this is the author's first foray into 'adult' fiction, probably best to stick to her usual style. She got 2 stars from me simply because I finished it, if I new it was a cliffhanger I wouldn't have bothered.
