They're basically like the typical lather ball or poof on a string but just un-rouched or un-gathered. The benefit of it being a sheet rather than ball, is that it works more like a wash cloth and you can use it on hard to reach places, like your back. You still get a lot of lather out of it too. The additional benefit is that it's not like the typical east Asian exfoliating cloth; by that I mean that it's gentle on your skin and not as scratch-y as the other types of bath cloths. And they're re-usable. I wash them by putting them in a lingerie bag and tossing them in the washer along with the rest of my laundry.
