VTech VM819-2 Non-WiFi Video Baby Monitor with 2 Cameras, 1000ft Range, 19-Hour Battery – Night Vision, Temperature Sensor, Lullabies, 2-Way Audio, Secure FHSS Transmission

This is a great baby monitor that does not need to connect to wifi! It is super easy to use and the monitor has a good battery life on it. I use this when traveling and for the price, it really is a great product! I have yet to have any problems with it! While I do love it, I am not sure I would make this my primary monitor (personally) I feel the wire that connects to the monitor is quite short and getting the best angle would be a little difficult for full-time use. The picture is too zoomed in for me and I prefer to see the whole body. None-the-less, the picture quality is great and audio works well for a great price, I wont leave out of town without this.

I absolutely love the VTech VM819 baby monitor! It gives me so much peace of mind while I’m doing things around the house because I can always see and hear my baby. The battery life is amazing and lasts a long time. I can even step outside and still stay connected without any issues. One of the best features is that it does NOT require Wi-Fi, which makes it more secure and reliable. Great video and sound quality, and very easy to use. Highly recommend!

Solid product, works as expected I’ve been using this product for a little while now and overall I’m very satisfied with it. It arrived well-packaged and matched the description on the listing. Setup/use was straightforward, and it performed as expected right out of the box. The build quality feels good for the price, and so far I haven’t had any issues. It does what it’s supposed to do and fits well into my daily routine. I appreciate the thoughtful design and ease of use. Overall, this is a good value and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something like this.

I’d die for this monitor!! No wifi, never cuts out, volume can go super low and also really loud. Super bright even on the lowest brightness but it’s not bad. I’ve not had any issues with this before and it’s genuinely so amazing. SO easy to set up both the camera and the monitor, quality of the monitor is so great, video quality allows me to see the my babies breathing and her binkies. This is the monitor I’ll use for the rest of forever!

The VM819 model has surprisingly poor range, with audio cutting in and out for seconds at a time just a short distance away. The PTZ version (VM923), on the other hand, has outstanding range thanks to external antennas on each end, better than anything else I've tested. (Though the PTZ camera is larger, in case that's a consideration.) Any successor to the VM819 really should adopt the external antennas of the VM923. Unfortunately, the parent unit for the VM923 (not interchangeable with the VM819's) allows only panning with the hard buttons, requiring a trip through the (very slow) menu to adjust the volume. (In contrast, the VM819 uses the hard buttons for volume and brightness.) This really should have been configurable on the VM923 parent unit. This was the deal-breaker for me, since I nearly never need to aim the camera and frequently need to adjust the volume (and I need better range than the VM819). I ended up going with the Babysense V24R, with sensible button layout and excellent range (somewhat less than the VM923, but far better than VM819), and a more compact parent unit. Both the VM819 and VM923 have a non-replaceable battery in the parent unit and have an extremely slow UI, taking several seconds to toggle the display off to monitor audio only. (This made adjusting volume on the VM923 even worse.) Also, as others have noted, the alert tone when the parent unit loses signal is *extremely* loud, no matter your selected volume. These are all better on the V24R. That said, when in range, the VM819 and VM923 video and audio are fine, and the camera and display both work well.

Great baby monitor, very versitile, can be used for various applications. I can walk all around the house and no glitches. Connects right away and has a strong battery life. Very good sound quality and top left corner lights up when noise is detected. I recommend this product.

I found this monitor to be very user friendly, and easy to go from box-to-use in minutes. The camera and monitor come connected, that was a nice plus. The monitor is pleasantly small, I’m able to put it in my pocket if my hands are full doing laundry/moving from room to room. The night vision detection adjusts almost instantly and has a nice image. Clear sound coming from the monitor and from the camera when talking to baby. Overall, a great quality monitor.

So many things on my baby registry I wound up not utilizing much. That is NOT the case with this v-tech baby monitor. There just are not enough good things to say. Very easy to set up. Visual quality is great, audio is great. Here is my favorite feature: the temperature. This feature and monitor SAVED my baby. We had just moved into a new house and I was taking an afternoon nap with her. I hear an awful siren in the next room over and over and wake up. It is the baby monitor from out in the living room letting me know that the bedroom we are sleeping in is 76 degrees and climbing. Lo and behold- we have *terrible* insulation in our bedroom which leads to overheating even during the winter. This feature has gone off FAITHFULLY every time our room is too hot so that I know to crank the AC way down and stay up to make sure our baby doesn’t overheat. I would buy this monitor over and over and over again.

Using it from sept 25 works great, does what it says, battery not really 19h but we alway charge it. We live in a 2400 sqft house with many thick walls and this cam has no connection issues.

I live in Austria and ordered the baby camera from Amazon.de. I Was waiting for the camera and even paid for a faster delivery since the one we have is slowly loosing it's battery hold. I was very disappointed that it came with USA OUTLET PLUGS!!! I can't rate the camera itself since I didn't set it up and it's going back. I'm not going to deal with adapters that will just be inconvenient for me.. To bad I really wanted this camera will see if I can get it with European plugs

Pretty happy with this unit after a week of use. Installation was a breeze and everything worked right out of the box. Currently only using one of the cameras but I wanted an option with a second camera so that I could leave one installed and travel with the second when we go out to visit friends or family. Operationally, sound is good and it doesn't have an annoying hum that some other models have had. Image is more than good enough to see what's going even when its completely dark. Battery also seems really good and it seems like it could go a long while without being plugged in.
