If you want Earbuds to listen to music - these are as good as it gets!
When looking to purchase earbuds it really depends on what you want to use them for? You are either looking for earbuds that work well with your phone, that you can use to make good quality phone calls with or you want a pair purely for listening to music which produce the best sound quality. Ideally you want a pair that can do âboth.â I did my research and watched a load of âYouTubeâ reviews and started looking at the more expensive Bang & Olufsen and Sennheiser models which I nearly went with. The downside however was that the B&Oâ offered great sound but vey poor battery life. Most of the earbud reviews I saw went on about âcall qualityâ, âactive noise cancellationâ âwireless chargingâ etc. In my case I wasnât really interested in these features as I just wanted some buds for listening to music. Then I discovered the Master & Dynamic range and in particular the MW08âs.The MW08âs are quality. They look like an expensive set of cufflinks you would receive as a retirement present. These are beautifully stylish and made from tough, durable and quality materials; ceramic and aluminium (which also acts as the Bluetooth ariel). The charging case is weighty, built from steel and clearly made to last. As if this wasnât enough you also get a corduroy carrying pouch with a strong metal spring lock. Master & Dynamics are clearly proud of this product. Some reviews stated that the âActive Noise Cancellationâ wasnât as good as some of the other cheaper models on the market. Others mentioned that they donât offer wireless charging or âmulti point Bluetooth connectionâ (meaning that you can link to two devices at once, a laptop and phone for example). Well, since then the MW08âs have received a software update and I can confirm that they now âdoâ offer multi-point connection. However, letâs look at the features that set them apart from the competition:The battery life is exceptional â 10-12 hours, thatâs a dayâs worth of listening and not many buds out there get even close! But hereâs the thing â when listening to music they sound incredible! In fact, as good as they look! These paired flawlessly with my Sony Walkman, my iPhone, my laptop. You can also download a companion app which some have criticised as being âtoo basicâ i.e. â no graphic equaliser. However, in my view, a graphic equaliser is a tool used to try and improve inferior sound quality. The MW08âs are the earbud equivalent of a Hi-Fi and any good Hi-Fi expert will tell you that with high quality audio equipment you donât really need an EQ. No, they already sound fantastic and balanced so why would anyone want to mess with an EQ?The sound stage is wide and natural. Vocals sound fantastic! This is apparently due to their huge 11mm drivers. No other earbuds offer drivers this size as I write this. You can hear every instrument clearly and with subtle detail. The sound is not muddy, the bass is not overdone.I should also mention that they are comfortable to wear. Designed to be perfectly balanced in your ears and come with the more âcomfortableâ silicone tips rather than the squashy expanding foam ones which crumble after a few months of use. Ear Tips are included for all ear sizes from âExtra-Smallâ to âExtra Large,â so you should be able to find a good fit.So, if youâre more interested in buds for making phone calls and looking for all the âbells and whistlesâ that some other brands offer, such as wireless charging, better noise cancellation and better apps, then go with that. On the other hand, if like me you just want to listen to music at its best you canât go far wrong with these! As the old saying goes; âyou get what you pay for!â and in this case I believe it is certainly true!

Bonkers battery life with quality audio and appearance
I am currently in search of a pair of new buds and came across MW08. First, I gotta say I was totally attracted by the design and the battery life. Now, let's talk.Pros:-Battery life-Striking appearance, luxurious in-hand feeling; not your average buds-Excellent sound quality-Precise control by buttons-Premium case with bonkers battery too-Very comfortableCons:-no multipoint pairing-have to take extra care while wearing and handling, no tossing around (the buds are ceramic coated, so might have a high chance of shattering if drop)-heavy case with no wireless charging; weak magnet-not top-tier ANC but I reckon enough for daily commute-nothing too significantThe unboxing experience is superb as you would expect from a brand like M&W. Everything is above-average quality and gives you a luxurious feeling. The buds, man they are like jewellery in your hands, styling accessories when you put them on! So beautifully crafted. The design language and the materials literally scream LUXURY.Comfort is a big thumbs up, I rarely found a bud that I can side-sleep on and feel comfortable. I can wear them for hours w/o having fatigue too.Sound quality is amazing as you would expect from an audio-focused brand like M&W. Soundstage is there (not as wide as, say B&W PI7), bass, mids... everything is crystal clear. I would say on-par with Senn's MTW2 but behind PI7 (this may just be my personal preference).ANC is not strong but I reckon they are enough for daily commute purposes. I can still hear some fan noise if I am in my room with them in my ears. You may expect some traffic noise and some engine rumbles to come through if you are walking on the streets. On-par or maybe weaker than Senn's MTW2 (say if MTW2's ANC is the average benchmark).Battery life is the main selling feature here I would say. Find me another high-end pair with a 10hrs with ANC on, I doubt you. Plenty of juice, two hours of train ride only got down to 70-80%. Big thumbs up.All in all, you're paying for the craftsmanship, the audio quality and the battery life. They are nearly perfect because of their ANC, but everything is there. If ANC is not a big problem and you value a luxurious piece of wearable, go for these and you won't regret it.

Not balanced
These bad boys are another level, to say they sound GOOD doesn't do them justice, these are easily better than my WXM4s and Momentum 2s. The ANC is quite mild but that's not really why you but kit like this. It's all about the sound quality. And that, it does, very wellAlas this pair aren't balanced, either I'm going deaf in one ear (âšď¸) or they are biased to the right by about 5%.Fingers crossed it's the latter, I'm going to return these and order another pair to confirm.I'll update this review when I have tried the 2nd setThat niggle aside these are superb, well recommend

Almost Ideal
Sound is great, towards the warm side but bottom and top end are well defined. ANC could be more effective but it's ok if that's not your primary concern. The ambience setting is really good.Comfortable, well fitting (I use foam tips) and quite a subtle profile when worn. Volume is not as loud as non-ANC buds but that's to be expected...but it's loud enough. Noticeably wider soundstage than others I've triedWorth it if you have the spare cash....for me it ticks all the boxes (comfort, sound, battery, IPX, tactile controls, volume control, ANC)...whereas all the other buds I looked at seem to lack one or more criteriaOne thing to note (although it may just be a fault on my iPod)...the app stopped detecting my earbuds after I tried to change the name in the app. Tried factory reset, reconnecting the buds, deleting the app etc but nothing worked. In the end I linked them to my phone and downloaded the app on Android. Bit of a pain if I want to use the app to change settings...(just a pointer for anyone facing a similar problem, I don't think it's the fault of the earbuds)
