Surprisingly effective, especially with bone-conducting headphones
If you use bone-conducting headphones while riding your bicycle, like Aeropex/Shokz, then you NEED these cat ears! These do a remarkable job blocking wind noise from your ears, making those open-ear bone-conducting headphones MUCH more effective. Plus they let you be more aware of the sounds of traffic and things around you. Pretty amazing, in fact, how such a simple solution works so well.My one and only gripe is that they could be longer. Depending on the length of your helmet strap in front of your ears, these may sit lower than they ought to be. One of my helmets, this could really be 150% of its current length - and for shorter straps of course it would be easier to cut them down to size.

Doubter no longer
A friend purchased these and I thought no way can they do what they describe...it's just a bunch of 1970s shag with some velcro. I bike with Shokz Openrun so I can hear ambient noise while also receiving input from my rear-facing bike radar via my cellphone (which also runs Strava and music/podcasts). While descending hills or in stiff headwinds I have to increase volume in either the headphones or the Shokz, which requires 1 hand off the handlebars. I don't find this an issue with a headwind but am leery of single-handedly managing my bike on a rough road descent at 40 mph. So with the return policy in mind, I purchased a pair to test. The first time I tried the Cat-Ears, I took a 17-mile ride on which wind noise during 2 descents usually exceeds the settings on my Shokz. The Cat-Ears didn't block all the noise, but significantly reduced the annoying whistling of wind in my ears, and on the descents I could still follow the discussion on the podcast. The only negative is that I bought the AirStream Slimz and they're somewhere lost in transit, necessitating a purchase of the Classic Cat-Ears. However, I'm keeping these regardless.

Wow, these actually work!
The "Cat Ears" actually do the trick of cutting down on noise and keeping my ears just a little bit warmer on cooler days. I'd give 5 stars but I think they cost a little bit much for how simple the product actually is. Still, great device!

Effective if a little silly looking
These do actually work to reduce wind noise. I think for the average cyclist these are unnecessary. But if you bike at speed, particularly on long downhills these cut wind noise a great deal. This improves hearing ambient sounds like cars approaching. The only negative is they do look a bit like sideburns. Perhaps if they came in white or light grey it would help maybe.

Did not experience reduced wind noise
I found the idea interesting and read some good reviews. Bought one set for myself and three as gifts. Tried mine for 70 km and I am sorry to find I did not experience much sound reduction. I feel my money was wasted.

Works great!
I bought them even though they look dorky. However, they work! Dropped wind noise from a jet engine sound to minimal buffeting. When I lift the cat ears away from my head the increase in sound is significant. I tried ear plugs but long rides are uncomfortable and they block too much sound.Yes they look odd; don't look in the mirror. Are they expensive? IDK, is anything less than $20?

Wind noise still there for me
Product arrived promptly in good condition.I live near the ocean, bicycling practically everywhere I go locally. I listen to BT earbuds when I ride, but often miss much of the podcasts or news or music on the bike thanks to wind noise (not to mention automobile noise). I often have to crank the volume up to unreasonable levels to even get some of the broadcast when pedaling down empty alleyways. So when I read about Cat Ears here at Amazon, the decision to buy was simple for me. When I received them, I installed them immediately, according to the instructions. And yes, they do look pretty funny, but if they worked who cares how they look? The Cat Ears (classic) version I bought did not cover the entire strap, which I thought was a good thing. They fit the strap firmly enough that I could slide them up and down to arrange them into the most effective position to reduce my wind noise. LOL, mostly what happened is that the wind noise changed from a rushing sound to an annoying, variable-pitch whistling sound. Heh.Now, I'm older (mid-60s) and my ears have gotten larger, so it might not be the product's fault. Maybe it's the size of my ears. But the end result is that Cat Ears did not work for me. Given the positive reviews that caused me to buy them, I guess I'm an outlier.

The cat's meow!
I picked these up after some consideration, and I was extremely satisfied in how they work. They function like a real cat's wind noise reducing ear fur, and with my head looking straight ahead going downhill at 30 mph, the wind noise is probably reduced upwards to 90%! It's actually amazing!Looking side-to-side against thewind, the fur isn't as effective, maybe only about 20% reduction, but it's still noticable. Plus, I'm mostly looking forward anyway.I'd highly recommend these. Super easy and quick to put on your helmet straps, and it adds a whole new level of safety and awareness. And hey; if it makes you look more catlike; that's a plus in my book!

Super
Daher hier keine Kaufempfehlung

Problem solved!
For me these little cat-ears totally eliminate the wind noise from the front helmet strap. I now west my my NHS hearing aids when cycling. I select ‘360 deg spacial’ in the Signia App and I can then hear all the chat - and more importantly, I can hear vehicles as they approach from behind.

Great for tinnitus! Really cuts down on the wind noise.
I've been dealing with tinnitus for the last few years, and it got to the point where I couldn't ride my bike anymore. This product made a HUGE difference.

This exceeded my expectations by far!
I wear hearing aids, both ears, completely in canal. I use Aftershox bone conduction earphones when riding, so I can still hear ambient noise. Unfortunately, I can hear wind noise too, amplified by the hearing aids. Wind noise completely removed the option of listening to music or podcasts while riding. I tried making my own wind noise reduction system using soft foam stuck to my helmet straps, but the results were not great. These Cat-Ears are expensive for a simple fur fabric held on by velcro. But once I put them on, I was in a different world. Don't expect miracles - cycling into a headwind is still noisy. But on an average low-moderate wind day, these reduced wind noise by a lot, maybe 80-90% for me. I can now listen to music and podcasts, and still hear essential sounds around me, such as cars. These are a one-off purchase that should last years, and I highly recommend them

Funktionieren sehr gut
