D-Wave Saltwater Spinning Combo (2 Piece)

So I've used this a few times now and can't find anything specifically that I dislike about it. Is it the greatest quality rig out there? Probably not. Does it work great? Yes, especially for the price. I'm using it for inshore stripers, nothing really heavy, but it works pretty perfectly. And if it breaks, I can buy 10 of these for the cost of one combo at Cabela's. I have the 7' spooled with 15# mono and it has handled small stripers effortlessly. For a casual, recreational fisherman, it's perfect. And I like that it separates for easier storage and transport.

For what it’s worth I’m very pleased with the rod. I think it’s beautiful, it feels sturdy and nice. I will say I struggled spoiling the reel but that was more user error because I haven’t done that in forever. Speaking of which it’s only the rod and reel combo. No line, no baits or jigs or hooks. I’m sure everyone will be happy with this product as long as they’re aware of what they’re buying.

I was surprised how nice this rod and reel combo functioned. I dropped a star because the anti reverse takes part of a rotation before it kicks in. This is a good setup for pier or bridge (or boat) fishing, but get the longer rod if you’re surf casting. Always rinsed after fishing, so far no durability issues at all. I got this for a spare rig to leave at a friends beach house for when I visit, and for the money I’d say it would be tough to beat.

When I received the rod and reel I had the line put on it and went out to fish I caught 2 nice size black Drums, a smaller mangrove red snapper, and then I had on the line what I thought at first was a large snook but to my surprise it turned out to be a 2 and 1/2 foot or more almost 3 ft. tarpon what fun. I pulled it up to the dock then my friend grabbed the line and with that the tarpon did one more flip and off he went. He was so bright and shinny. What a great first day fishing with the rod & reel.

I am assuming that this rated a 5 star review. It was a birthday present for my son-in-law and arrived just before they headed on vacation. Halfway through the trip, I got a picture of him fishing in the surf and another of him holding up an absolutely huge fish. (Don’t worry. It was fishing at sunrise and they were alone on the beach.). Beyond the fact that they had a great time with this, I don’t know enough to give a good review. My daughter told me what he really wanted and I followed her advice. He loved it.

I bought two one broke on first six pound ray. They would not supply box for warranty replacement. The service Rep said could take long time for repairs or replacing. By the time I go back to the beach it will be out of warranty.the second ones cast assist rings started to fall out.

This combo works great. I bought one from Costa Rica for shore fishing with lures ore bait. The rod is really high quality and the reel it's great too. I already got a big jack with no problem at all to land it. Highly recommended!!! UPDATE: After a bit more than one year of the purchase of this spinning combo. And after many hours of surf fishing, kayak fishing, boat fishing and more, the rod it's still in a very good condition, no problems at all with it. On the other hand the reel got to and end. After many Jack crevalles, tunas, a big stingray and more, the reel got damage after a 45 min and 35 min fight with two big rooster fish, here in Costa Rica where I live. After landing both fish on the same day, the reel wasn't the same. I started making cranking sounds, the handle got loose and it doesn't feel firm anymore, the drag it's not smooth anymore and the antireverse got damage too. I think this two big rooster fish where too mucho for the reel. Thanks why I am changing from 5 stars to 3 stars, because I was specting this reel to last longer. But I still get the rod which it's in a very good condition.

I bought 3 of these, hold a lot of 12lb line, we used them fishing for surf perch seabass and greenling so far. they worked great. rather sensitive tip for size of rod. I like it. can wait to hit a few salmon on them little later this year. from what iv seen so far they will work fine for that as well.

For the price, this Daiwa D-Wave rod is a no-brainer. It’s well-built, feels solid, and does exactly what you need it to do. You’re not getting high-end performance, but it’s more than enough for casual fishing or as a backup setup. Just a heads-up: fishing line isn’t included. Overall, great value and quality for the cost – definitely recommend for anyone looking for a reliable, budget-friendly rod.

En pocas palabras es un excelente combo. La caña tiene unos acabados muy bien cuidados y se siente ligera pero fuerte, tiene un agarre muy cómodo y la distancia desde el extremo de la caña hasta la goma de agarre superior hace que tanto en el lance como en la recuperación los brazos queden en una posición cómoda. Trae un carrete 4000b, que se ve bastante bien. Las dos partes de la caña ensamblan muy bien, se siente muy seguro y sin juego, el emsamble y desensamble es muy fácil y no se traba para nada. Un aspecto interesante es que el rango de línea es de 12 - 25 lbs (5.5 - 11.5 kg aprox... monofilamento) y el peso del señuelo de 3/4 - 3 oz (21 - 85 gr) lo que en mi opinión hace un combo muy polivalente, listo para usar en muy variadas condiciones. Las anillas con un acabado impecable hechas de oxido de aluminio, Acción Medium , 7 pies. Estoy muy contento con la compra, sin duda una opción a tener en cuenta.

Acabo de recibir el equipo y estoy conforme con la compra, la caña es muy bonita y se ve bastante resistente, en cuanto al carrete no es nada fuera del otro mundo, el peso es adecuando y el material está ok, solo falta ir a probarlo y a ver qué tal se comporta. Por el precio les aseguro que están haciendo una buena compra. Dejo imagen de la capacidad de la caña y el carrete.

Have not caught anything big yet but have caught a bunch Android and feel have performed well.
