The most practical book within reach on my desk.
This book has been a great reference for systems project management. I highly recommend this book as a reference when managing systems projects such as those commonly found in spacecraft, aircraft, and robotics development. Also, it provides fresh insight for managing complex civil, mechanical engineering, and energy industry projects, as well. It's a logical first step for those wanting to enter the field of project management and a practical next step for those who want to go beyond PMBOK. For those in aerospace and energy, you'll probably find yourself reaching for this book more than PMBOK for basic reference to manage your complex systems planning and tracking. It's broad in scope, not too deep, and easy to grasp. It provides enough guidance to get you moving along again when stumped.I'd been checking and rechecking this book out at the university library until it was clear that I needed to just purchase it and leave it on my desk. It has since paid for itself many times over as I already knew it would.

Overall good read
So far the book seems to be a pretty good roadmap to project management. The only thing I have not cared for is many of the figures/tables it discusses are not on the same page so you have to flip back and forth.

Required for class; first required book I've liked in a decade
I'm reading the book for class and I'm actually enjoying it. The author incorporates discussion of many different types of projects with varying sizes to make all his points. He also includes real-life stories and acknowledges the real-life aspects of engineering rather than just book knowledge.

Eh...
I found that I could find most of this material online, although it wasn't in one place like this text. Programmers swear by it, but I found it to be a waste of a text book for me.

Excellent Book!
This book is a great read for anyone who will be involved in a project in any capacity at some point in their working career. When I look at Projects now, it is with a wider perspective and a better appreciation of the overall process.

Different version, missing 29 pages.
The book I received says 'Special Indian Edition' in a red box on the cover. It was supposed to have 704 pages and this one has 675, I do not yet know if it will work for my class. I am annoyed that the red banner that appears on the book is not on the image. The first assignment is tomorrow so I am stuck, but I am annoyed.
