Mine is about 23 cents higher than G#1. You might be able to take it up to an A by filing the sharp tips a wee little bit. I'm not that finicky, though. This harp has more range, sensitivity, and volume than many others. The cost for these is going to be speed and learning curve. You will need to have good form in how you mount it and at plucking perfectly straight. So, for a very beginner, maybe not the best, unless you can learn those things quickly. Also, it is not going to allow for great speed, but you can make up for that in technique, because it is so sensitive to your breath/tongue abilities. The reed/tongue is soft and very flexable. It is filed with sharp edges and aligned very well in the arms of the frame, with very little gap and on the same plane as the edges of the arms. Again, that is going to be less forgiving when you pluck at a slight angle, but if you can learn to pluck it right, this thing is going to give you voices others could not even approach. So don't let this scare you off... you should be learning that, anyway, and the worst that happens is a buzz or clack from hitting the frame or your teeth. That actually serves to remind you pretty quickly to re-adjust yourself. The soft play will not fatigue you while you are learning, either. Just relax and go with it, when you feel it. This is a great juicer for meditative playing, really. It has a spiral loop trigger, which makes for plucking inwards and outwards more comfortable, though again great plucking speed will not be possible. The arms are milled out on the back and the mill work seems very accurate. Mine did not come rusty and was packed fairly well with some foam on one side. (It seems like they are listening to reviews and adjusting, which is great.) I wish they offered a custom case for the Lighthouse, but I work wood and leather and it should not be too hard to come up with something. I like that it is so flat and thin. I believe one of those old BSA camping combs that came in the pleather sleeve would probably even work out for a while. Anyway, I hope that helps someone. Review: Good so far - I got a cheap snoopy harp at first and it legitimately didn't work, so I was a little demotivated. Luckily I gave it another shot and got this one. I've only had it for a day so I can't vouch for it's durability yet but it's an amazing sounding, easy to play instrument that's the perfect size to carry around in my pocket. No problems so far. Update: It's been like 6 months and it's still playing good as ever. Put it through the ringer and still no rust or decline in quality. First and probably only review but thank you for the quality product in a market where the biggest vendor of the instrument sells nonfunctional "toys" to scam kids.

A terrific lower toned Glazyrin jaw harp. Easily carried in a pocket or leather sheath.
A terrific lower toned jaw harp that I have had lots of play-time with. Have a Star by Glazyrin as well, although was wanting another jaw harp of a lower tone, and this really fits the bill to play alongside other musicians and even in church. You would be surprised at the extra nuance that can be added by such a small instrument. The size and shape makes it easy to play, and can be carried in a pocket, or a leather carrying case. he one in the photo was purchased outside of this merchant, also made by Glazyrin. Would like to see these offered for sale as an extra alongside the jaw harp purchase. The tones are indeed lower, and with most Glazyrin jaw harps they will teach you how they like to be played, which was another reason for getting a smaller, less stiffened reed. As with any musical instrument the person's skill and technique makes the difference on how loud or sift these jaw harps sound. The Lighthouse has been my more favored jaw harp as I can adjust my fingers along its bracket (arms) and the groves fit almost ergonomically to the fingers. Positioning also allows one to adjust position and pressure on the teeth being used to play. I so like the finger fit! Recorded a short video to show how the Lighthouse sounds. Was in a local park right about sunset and it was starting to get cold, so my play style was a bit rushed. My apologies there. The Shamanic Shop's Glazyrin Lighthouse is perfect for the beginner to advanced player. Seen a fella on The Harpery really get some nifty sound effects out of this small jaw harp and cut some nice tunes. And as with all good things, one cannot have just one jaw harp. More so when playing along with others in a group, band, church ensmble, or with other fellow harpers. Makes for a terrific gift as well.

Great for Younger beginers
Exceptional quality, very clean sound when you get used to it! Im please with this choice as one of my first harps. Don't be afaid to get this one. Even if it turns out not to be a match for you, it will be made right by the company owner.I do however recomend this one for harpers with smaller mouth size and moderatly thiner lips. Im not saying above average harpers are not good for it, but will have to work at it. But worth it.

Unique sound well crafted.
Highly recommend if your looking for a lower frequency sound. It hits a little different and it's nice and loud. It may be a little difficult for a beginner because of the tight clearance. As long as you pluck the tongue straight and true then you shouldn't have issues. This is only my second jaw harp I've owned and the quality and craftsmanship of this one is alot better. It worked perfectly 1st strike with no adjustments made. Will be getting my next one from the same maker for sure.

This is a great jaw harp ! Very well made and has a beautiful tone. The space between each side if the deck and tongue is minute which results in a beautifully clear sound . Worth every penny...I highly recommend this item and the seller.

This harp is easy to play and has a good volume. Spend the money rather than buying a cheaper option and being disappointed.
