A great ruler
This ruler is a pleasure to use. I found it in a stationary shop in Ibaraki prefecture north of Tokyo in March 2011. Hard to believe it's been three years since Fukushima. Wow.Anyway, as a science guy, I really like that it is absolutely metric all the way. No inches here. I mainly use it as a straight edge or for informal measurements, but it's perfectly reasonable for measuring small but grossly visible items off microscopy slides as well. It sits super flat on the paper, but the ridge on the non-measuring side make it easy to pick up the ruler once you've laid it down.I keep one in my 9x5 moleskine, one in my briefcase, one at my desk at work, and one at my desk at home. I also got them for my kids. It's very sturdy, the 15 cm size is just right for most uses and for carrying around. The layer of oxidation is fine; if you want to brighten it up, hit it with a little polish and it shines up nicely.

Another quality Traveler's Company/Midori product
Just to clear the confusion: Midori changed its name to Traveler's Company in 2015 (see their website). The numbers/text in the ruler should be indented into the brass (i.e. they aren't "etched" by hand, but they are stamped in by machine). If the numbers are painted on, then you do not have an authentic Traveler's Company product. Also note that the product has the Traveler's Company insignia in one corner ("TRC").Beautiful, shiny brass. Looks perfect for tracing lines with, and appears that it'll fit snuggly in my Traveler's Company notebook.

Amazing! The best lazer engraved mini ruler I’ve ever used!
This is the best mini ruler I have ever used. Believe me, I have them all. It fits perfectly in my pen case, and has laser engraved markings so they won’t rub off. The lip on the opposite side works amazingly for not getting feathered bleed of ink or highlighters (which was my intended use). Definitely recommended! I was amazed at the craftsmanship of this ruler. The packaging was authentic and was embossed with a high quality card and care recommendations. A definite keeper for lifetime use.

Not a 12 inch ruler
I bought this thinking it was a normal standard size school ruler. It measures only in centimeters for the picture showing it gos up to 16 is a bit deceiving. I was disappointed and got it to use in my accounting profession. I bought another one that was in centimeters and inches but it was still only 6 inches long about the same size. This one is better than that one and I have gotten use to it and really like this one now. It works for what I use it for, and it is a beautiful desk accessory. Great to give as a gift to an accountant or their assistants.

Super Stylish Ruler
I love the aesthetic of this super stylish ruler, just thought it would be a bit longer. But I still love it. The quality is amazing. Good weight and it is so stylish.

Classy AF
This brass ruler is like a prop straight out of a Wes Anderson film. Adds a touch of vintage charm to my desk. Solid five stars.

Midori IS Traveler's Company and the NUMBERS ARE ETCHED
I love this ruler. It is exactly what I was looking for. The Traveler's Company was rebranded by Midori so the people who think that this is not a midori product are mistaken. It was done back in 2015. The numbers are etched into the brass ruler. It's a hefty 6 inch ruler which is perfect for my bullet journal. I also purchased this because it has one raised side so you can draw with pen and not get the pen on the ruler.

Too small but pretty
I was really excited about this because I've always wanted a gold looking ruler but it is TOO SMALL. Can't seem to wrap my mind around why people would make a ruler that doesn't measure out to be a whole foot long. If I knew it was small I wouldn't have spent the money but I was distracted by its beauty 😔
