Excellent HO code 100 Peco Turnouts
I have about 300 code 100 Peco turnouts on my HO layout. I think these are the best turnouts. They are very reliable, some of mine are more than 30 years old and still working. The built-in spring means that no separate switch machine is needed. The insulfrog design means that the non-selected route is an open circuit (not a short) so insulated rail joiners are usually not needed. But I only like the code 100 turnouts. I have tried the newer code 85 turnouts and do not like them. The code 85 turnouts do not track as well, do not have a provision for rail-joiners, and seem flimsy.
