Q: I have two 12in speakers from an older peavey escort pa. Can not get any feedback on what ohms they are (4 or 8). Could this mixer damage the speaker?

No damage, it says 2400 watts however its equal to like 240 real watts. So you're safe 4 or 8 ohms.

Q: Can I connect a Laptop to this unit ?

You will need a cable that connects your audio out (headphone) to an xlr or 1/4" input.

Q: Why dose the sound cuts out after a min

If the sound is cutting out it's probably clipping from the volume being turned up too high. Turn down a bit and watch your meters that you're not in the peak area.

Q: Will this run 4) MTX 1200 speakers?

Yes as long as all the speakers match 8 ohm I had to plug the other two into the back of each speaker and ran it threw because I have 4 8 ohm speakers plug to the two main back speakers you will love the sound that is a great power mixer you will or got can’t go wrong with this
