EDIT:4/28/15 UPDATE revised to 4 starsAfter almost 2 years of nearly daily wear, the band has held together with no grand failure points. The glued retainer loop is still strongly bonded, there have been no stitching failures or failures in the leather itself. Honestly, the construction of the band is fantastic with the only recent issue being that it took some abuse while working and the waterproof seal holding the top leather and the bottom leather failed this past weekend. I am a fan of this brand.I docked a star because, like another reviewer mentioned, the finish fades/wears pretty quickly. If the dye were darker (brown/black) this might not be so significant, but I also found the honey to look worn very quickly. Oddly, this almost exclusively limited to the loops. The rest of the leather and dye ages fairly well. The leather on my band had a fair amount of pullup.Original Review Below (Originally rated 5 stars)The band itself is a very high-quality leather with great attention to detail and craftsmanship. The band came in a color that was accurate to the photo depicting it (something I was fearful with anything leather) and has a fine color throughout the band with nice contrast stitching. Very good hardware for the buckle. Look forward to buying more Hirsch bands to give myself a few more options for wearing under different occasions.

This is the third watch band that I have purchased for our watches and they are all the same model except width. This latest one was for a new high priced IWC watch that came with a beautiful Italian leather band. However, I never take off my watches so they get wet (submerged) very often as well as having to survive a very active, clumsy existence. My previous IWC watch originally had the IWC leather band that dissolved after many years of water exposure and active clumsy lifestyle. This Hirsch 145021-10-20 (and my other two) are the only bands that are stronger than the metal or any other material that is still a joy of comfort as well as being very good looking. Thanks for this wonderful product.

Purchased as replacement band for Seiko Alpinist (SARB017) watch, more comfortable than the leather band that comes with the watch. Band looks great, but be aware that it did require a bit of breaking in to fit my wrist well, you may experience similar stiffness in the band.

It fits my watch perfectly, and is very comfortable. I was surprised, it is a darker brown than what the picture shows, but think this is due to different batches of leather and dyes usd in production.

I couldn't have been happier when my strap arrived. It looked amazing, fit my watch, and was very comfortable (had a worn in feeling that usually takes time to develop with other leather bands).HOWEVER, after wearing my watch for probably 2-3 times, I noticed that the leather was already starting to fade or show signs of discoloration. At this point, I don't know whether to try sending it back (as this should not have happened so soon), or try to get some sort of leather cleaner.I really want to be happier with this purchase, but am not sure what to do or think right now..

I like this band. It is an improvement over the leather clasp band the came with my Citizen Men's Perpetual A-T Limited Edition Watch. And the original was really nice, it just kept digging into my wrist a little too much. I was just a little miffed that there were no spring bars included. I have the band tool to remove the bars, but they still got bent.

Thin to slightly thick, this watch band is still extremely comfortable and pliable. Looks great on my Victorinox Alliance with silver dial, and the white contrast stitching on black leather makes it a great pairing to any light-faced watch. Far more comfortable than most watch bands while still looking great as a REAL genuine leather product. Used to replace a Hadley-Roma strap of dismal quality and similar styling. Hirsch quality exceeds that of Hadley-Roma by a factor of more than twice the price difference.

I am using this on my Seiko SARB017 Alpinist. I replaced the buckle with an RHD deployant clasp that I bought from Robert H. Davis.It is like night and day! The old strap was stiff, uncomfortable and ugly. The Hirsch Mariner is soft, comfortable and looks great!It stretched a bit so I am using one hole tighter than at first.I love it!

I loved it when I received it, but it's now showing significant signs of wear after only two weeks of wearing it. The original band of my watch showed no signs of wear after 3 years (it's a dress watch and I take really good care of my watches), I only changed because I wanted something different. The color is fading near the lugs and it's starting to look awful. Very disappointed in the poor longevity.

I always love Hirsh product and this watch band is no exception. Fit and finsih was top notch. Leather is smooth, soft and waterproof. Will buy the same brand again.

I am very picky when its come to leather strap but this strap is one of the best. Its look amazing and very comfortable on the wirst.
