The lowest psi reading I've seen is 10lbpsi that's not to stay It won't read 4lbspsi. I just never had to read that low of a pressure. **Q: How long does it normally take for the pressure to display? DO you have to hold it on the valve until it beeps?** A: Yes, you hold it on the valve until it beeps. It happens pretty quick. I leave it in my truck all the time to use either with my mountain bike or truck. Works great for both. **Q: can i attach a standard needle valve to the device and check the pressure of sports balls?** A: No, it won't hold the needle. It isn't as deep as a regular bike pump valve head. I'd describe the cup as shallow. Its just for pressing on, checking pressure, and not clamping onto a presta or standard stem.
