Miyabi Black 5000MCD67 10-pc Knife Block Set

The magnetic knife holder was pictured as red oak-stained walnut. It came as a cheap bamboo stand.The knives came in a flimsy cardboard shirt box. The plastic sleeves are not even taped so some slipped out during transit.As expensive as these knives are I expected them to be beautifully packaged in a Paulownia wood box.The shoddy shipping is a reflection of the German company.I haven't decided to return them yet or not.

knives are great, but the magnetic board has already cracked in 4 months

For the money I was expecting a little more care in quality control, shipping and packaging. Knives were just packed into a little box and some of them had come out of the sleeve. Luckily nothing was scratched by the knife. The image shows all knives with a consistent grain and color in the handle. The color of many of the knives is lighter or darker than others. I do not mid this so much as they are unique. One knife looks to have a flaw in the wood grain and there is chip in the handle. It looks like it was manufactured this way as the color and finish runs in to the chip. I would have thought this would be caught by quality control. The magnetic board is also split slightly on the seam on one side. Overall, I am happy with the knives. For the money I was just expecting flawless quality throughout and not just in the knives themselves.

I just open the box at ups customer pick up. I saw many scratches. And the handle colors are not the same. I want to return and ask for the new one. I like the weight and the black dark handle.
