Tactical Heavyweight Balaclava Outdoor Sports Mask

The piece that come up in front is actually a 4 1/2" flap comprised of a double thickness of fleece material that goes all the way around the inside of the hood. This flap, when up, adds a significant amount of insulation around the entire lower part of the head as well as across the lower face. When the flap is down, it sits pretty much unnoticed and out of the way. This is a great design overall. The extra material, however, does make the hood bulkier which means it cannot be folded as small. For example, it will not fit in any of my vest or coat pockets (see update below). OK, there is an issue of a strong chemical smell when it first arrives. You will probably want to wash the hood before you wear it. I soaked it in a bucket of soapy water for a couple of hours with a good rinse afterwards before I machine washed it. The result is that 95% of the chemical smell is gone. I can now comfortable wear it but plan to repeat this process some time in the future. I have a large head and the hood fits me quite comfortably. The shroud tucks well into a vest or jacket. The fleece is thick enough to provides lots of warmth. I have a Condor Watch Cap Navy Blue that complements the hood quite well. Update 18 Jan 18: I mentioned above that the hood is too bulky to fit in my vest pocket. Well, with a little compression is actually fits fine. I can actually zip the pocket closed and carry the hood in the vest without any issues. My neck is very sensitive to the cold, and I often wear the hood in the down position with the flap up as a neck gaiter.

The Anomasu Tactical Heavyweight Balaclava is a solid choice for outdoor activities. The material is thick and durable, providing great protection against wind and cold weather. I’ve used it for skiing and hiking, and it kept me warm and comfortable throughout. The fit is snug but not too tight, and it covers my face, neck, and ears perfectly. The only downside is that it can get a bit warm if you’re active for long periods, but overall, it’s a great piece of gear for winter sports and outdoor adventures. Definitely recommend.

Simply too small. I don't have a big head or anything, but it fits very tight and it's difficult to pull it down over my head when I need the hood down. Nice and warm, just too small.

We had previously gotten some cloth face shields but they were very uncomfortable to use. They smashed your nose and were tight on the head and face. When I saw these I was impressed with the loose look to them. When we got them we were having a very cold spell in Missouri and my son, who works outside on the ranch, took one and was very impressed with the warmth and comfort of it. the face part is easily moved up or down and the chest and back length is great for protecting these areas. I would totally recommend them and I have purchased two more. I will definitely be ordering more for the next winter.

It's crazy loose on the top, which causes it to easily go further over the face than it should. The back flap just doesn't sit flat at all, it bunches up at the neck from the start, which is both uncomfortable and extremely negative in how it affects your appearance. Nevermind that the hood looks less balaclava/ski mask/ninja hood and more "cheaply made hijab/turban hybrid", and thus is already difficult to pull off. The hood is extremely tight on the neck, which made me feel as though I was choking a bit, even when the hood was pushing over my head from the looseness at top. This tightness is not only on the front of the neck, but also the sides and lower face. Pulling the mouth covering up only slightly relieves neck tension, but increases lower face tension comparatively. It's been maybe 10 minutes since I took the hood off, and my lower face and neck still feel somewhat strained and cramped. The material feels like a cheap felt and, while not especially unpleasant to touch, isn't pleasant to touch, either. It does seem to be reasonably warm. It's probably right in the middle-ground between a beanie and a proper ski hood. For the price, it'd be a suitable amount of warmth, if only it at all fit. My head should be right in the sweet spot of what it's targetted towards, which means that the tightness elements will be relieved for those with smaller heads, but the hood will no doubt be be severely oversized in the looser places to make up for it. Likewise, the back probably'll bunch up regardless of head size. Simply put, this does not seem to have a consistent target consumer base, instead being a mismatch of features. If you've got a small back, a tiny neck, and a large head, then maybe, possibly, you could get some use out of this. However, it'd still be awkwardly fitting, unpleasant in appearance, and cheap in material. Likewise, this could be considered by anyone with a small head who actively wants something overly large and poorly fitting. In short, i'd recommend those without very niche considerations look for an alternative for their winter head-covering needs.

Works amazing.. As you all know for rockin eve w.dick clark was the coldest new yrs eve in history & i live about 2 hrs from NYC so it was just as cold here & this face mask worked wonders. i wore a hat under & i got so hot i had to take it off.. getting hot in 12 degrees w.a windchill of -3 is rare. I highly recommend this especially if you live in the northern states. You can wear it many ways too if its not that cold out or if u get hot its easy to adjust. I do recommend that you wash it when you get it as it has that new smell.. Deff a 5 star product.

Soft, comfortable very warm

This balaclava face opening is way too small my whole face couldn't get through. It is blocking my vision left and right and my chin dug under the hood even with the mouth guard down. 1 star and fits a 5 year old!
