The costs are variable because you can go per text, month by month, annually, and there are a la carte options (i.e. remote automobile recovery). I pay about $300 annually. **Q: how long does it hold a charge ?** A: Mine holds a charge for roughly 5 months with energiser lithium's but I set it to ping ever 30 min. Some guys will have theirs ping every 5 min, but that's an absolutely horrible idea because the more often any tracker talks to a satellite the easier it is for thieves to locate it with a cheap bug detector which can be bought just about anywhere online for a few bucks these days. Unlike the Garmin, this relies solely on satellites, and does not need a phone connection, which is great for remote locations, and means that you really can find it anywhere.The computer interphase uses Google maps, and shows you an exact location (usually within about 30 feet on a bad day and within 5 feet on a good day). Not a lot of features here like a Garmin GTU 10 had, but basic locations work good. The last check in is sometimes not real recent, but I have never not got what I needed from it.Stand alone (not permanently hardwired) batter life is very good on 3 AAA lithium cells.If it is moving a lot, and reporting at 5 minute intervals I found about a month battery life. For stationary items, I am at over 6 months and counting.Waterproof (if not using external power) is a nice feature. Small enough to use pretty much anywhere.The annual fee is reasonable, and I would highly recommend this unit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lots of peace of mind if my trailer gets stolen *by on Reviewed in the United States 1 July 2026* I installed this in a hidden spot in my hot air balloon trailer. Theft of trailers is a huge problem, and I know of several people who've had balloons go missing when thieves steal them for the trailers. It's not a substitute for a good trailer lock that secures both the hitch and the safety chains, but it gives me a much better chance of getting it back if someone does make off with it. I like the app - it's easy to set up alerts that the trailer has moved, and it shows a trail of breadcrumbs so even if they pull the trailer into a building that blocks the GPS signals, I can tell where it went.
