Fits and works perfectly as a replacement head for the Ryobi 40V string trimmer
I ordered this as a replacement for the original head on my Ryobi 40V string trimmer. I was concerned about the comments regarding the incompatible thread patterns. However, at least in the case of the 40V string trimmer, the thread pattern was correct and I was able to screw it in properly. The replacement unit appears to be good quality and I didn't have any problems with the lines breaking. I was able to use it and it worked perfectly. To those with the 40V string trimmer model, I highly recommend this replacement unit be considered when you are looking for a replacement unit.

40V ryobi head trimmer replacement
Better than my 40v ryobi head trimmer. This one if your spool got tangled the cover is easy to take it off to fix the spring. The oem is a PITA to take off and put it back in. Better alternative part for my 40v ryobi. Hope it works long enough because it's made of plastic thinner than the oem.

Great Replacement Part
Perfect fit for Ryobi Model P2009. Appears to be equivalent to original equipment.

So far, not bad
Review in progress: Initial thoughts: This was relatively easy to install. I did have to take the ?stub shaft? off the end of my Ryobi older model 40-v expandit trimmer after removing the old head. This threaded on but doesn’t offer a means to tighten it at all… I feel like this is gonna spin loose at 5,000 rpm and destroy something. I clamped the end of the flexible shaft with some vice grips and hand tightened the head as much as I could, but I’d really like to have two nuts to wrench down on like the original design. Theoretically the head spins opposite the threads, so should always be trying to tighten itself but I have concerns. Seems sturdy. Not sure about the review where the guy said it kept cutting his string. Will find out this weekend when it run it through its paces and update the review.

Worked with a glitch
The existing head became a pain to use, strings got stuck all the time. The new head worked fine. An light bump, string is extended.

Works Great!
Update: I’ve used for month now and still looks new. It’s easier to feed the line than original. Outstanding value. Fit perfectly. I’ve used it a few times now and it works as good as original. Time will tell on how durable it is.

Perfect Fit for RYOBI 40V with RY15523A – Sturdy, OEM Quality
This replacement trimming head is exactly what I needed for my RYOBI 40V powerhead (model RY40002) paired with the RY15523A straight shaft extension. Unlike several other replacement heads that claim to fit the 8mm center bolt but actually come with 10mm female threads (a deeply frustrating mismatch), this one is the real deal folks! As you can see from the images, the threads match perfectly, and installation was quick and seamless. Took all of 8 min to load my filament and get it all installed. It’s been several years since I’ve had a working bump head that loads filament without disassembling the whole dang thing!! It’s a solid, heavy-duty part with OEM-grade sturdiness - no flimsy components here. It feels built to last, and it’s performing just as well (if not better) than the original. If you’re looking for a true 8mm-thread match for this particular 40V Ryobi (see my images) setup, don’t waste time or money on questionable listings - this is the one to get. Highly recommend.

Fit perfectly my ryobi 40v trimmer. I have the one the can be used with other attachments. Video on u tube helped in the installation. There is a hole on top of the assembly the u have to stick a skinny screwdriver and the turn it to loosen the housing. Don't forget to grease the parts before installing

I got my RY15526VNM trimmer a few years back. It's a 40V Expand-It type with carbon fiber stem. It works well but the original trimmer head was a real pain to open and load. It was a bayonet mount type which required herculean hands to grasp and twist and the filament had the bad habit of breaking on the inside which forced me to open it often. I was almost glad when it broke. I wasn't sure this one would fit but it did and not only that but it works really well. Much easier to open than the original, easier to load new line. Easier to feed and somehow the line doesn't break as often. I'm very satisfied so I totally recommend it.

This is virtually identical to the original Homelite head, it’s rated 10,000rpm all the pieces look identical except it would not thread on my trimmer. After running a m8x 1.25 tap through the nut, the trimmer head threaded on without issue and works as it should. As for the durability only time will tell but my old one wore out after one season of bump feeding it trimming 1/2 acre gravel driveway. I would still recommend as it is an ryobi brand so you can’t fault them. I just wanted to skip the hassle of contacting Homelite and all the fuss to get a simple replacement part As for the other reviews that say it fits Homelite brand not sure what to say mine did not. I guess u could always return it if it doesn’t work out

Seems well made and was easy to install (no extra hardware provided so it must fit your model, it’s not a universal fit). Fit my older model Troy bilt expandit trimmer attachment ( old model maybe 10-15 years old), my new Troy bilt models use a different diameter Echo speed400 universal worked newer model). What I am not sure of is how long it will last the plastic always wears out on the bump heads ( they all do) more a question of how quickly. At this price, get a back up.
