JoJo 6251: The World of Hirohiko Araki

Do not buy this book for just any artist or manga fan! Jojo6251 is a compilation of previously-released art of the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure MANGA, without commentary or notes. The book contains 1 original illustration with commentary (NOT by Hirohiko Araki!) on Araki's process of sketching, drawing and painting the image seen in the cover art. This book has VERY LITTLE VALUE to someone who has no knowledge of, nor doesn't read Jojo's Bizarre Adventure! For JJBA fans, Jojo6251 was originally released very early during the run of Part 4 (Diamond is Unbreakable), so there is no art from the middle or end of Part 4 (i.e: no Yoshikage Kira, the main villain), nor any art from Golden Wind and onwards. With that in mind, Jojo6251 contains loads of illustrations by legendary mangaka Hirohiko Araki, including Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and even his works that precede Jojo's, including Baoh the Visitor, Cool Shock B.T and other general illustrations. The book also includes an encyclopaedia of the characters, objects places and locations in JJBA and a timeline of events in JJBA as of Part 4 up until the Ghost Alley arc, and near the end is an interview with Hirohiko Araki and retrospective of all his past work, complete with references to Shounen Jump publications, An essential piece to any Jojo fan's collection.

I am pleasantly surprised with how good this book is. The pages are good quality and there's plenty of artwork images. As well as the great pictures there's information on the characters and locations maps. It would make a lovely gift and is an ideal book for anime/JoJos fans. I would recommend.

Eu amei!! As artes do Araki que contém nesses livros foram todas postadas na Shounen Jump, e cada uma delas é perfeita! Eu realmente admiro muito o Araki e toda sua carreira e me inspiro muito nele. Veio com a ponta amassada, assim como o resto das avaliações. Isso me deixou frustrada, mas ainda assim gosto muito do produto.

I watched the first part of Jojo like five years ago with a friend that is no longer my friend. Otherwise I have no idea about the series but I always liked the artwork. I was like oh that’s mega cute, sure I’ll preorder this ~art book~ that I don’t know the series for. It arrived and I feel it fits well on my shelf. I am a huge art book collector so I am happy to have it. I looked inside and it is NOT just an art book. It has a lot of information as well, the art is a smaller part of it all. Timelines, the creator’s process, some more information on the artist himself, maps, character profiles…I feel that if you are a fan of his works, especially Jojos, you would find joy in this, even more so if you like to read up on specific trivia. It’s interesting stuff. It’s also tastefully compiled. A nice clean standard art book section, then you get a newspaper esque section for all the informational bits, with some various characters decorating the borders. The art is crisp and nice
