Super easy to install and works great! 💡
These lights were really easy to put up. No wiring or anything complicated, just pop the batteries in and mount them. The motion sensor picks up really well and the light is bright enough to see everything clearly when you walk outside. They’ve been holding up in the weather with no issues so far. Perfect for doorways, porches, or side yards. Definitely happy with these.

Great tip - install upside down.
See this picture and how it is mounted upside down. Upright was not working because it would hit the top of the eves. Perfectly, can be mounted at any angle. Distance sensor is about 8-10 feet. I wish it was more like 15’ but turns on just at the right distance. I love how it only stays on for 17 seconds if there is no movement, which saves battery. Make sure you have all the pieces in place before installing because I had to take it off when I forgot to place the hold bolt. Drilling the place of where the three mounting screws will go with a smaller drill bit (I used a measuring tablet to size the screws and bit. I lost one screw (fell and couldn’t find it with my magnet) and have many replacements in a box so finding one as not a problem. This was placed in a window that is low and a security risk for entry. Bright and like I said it stays on just the right amount of time if no movement is detected. It also won’t turn on when it’s daylight. Great purchase!

Quick fix for that dark place you occasionally visit
Mr. Beams MB360XT-WHT-01-00 The LED’s light quality is a utilitarian cool white but not unpleasantly blue. The beam spread is more like a floodlight than a spotlight. The lamp turns itself off fairly quickly after you exit its sensor range so that will help maintain the battery life. I installed it about two months ago, so I don’t have a sense of how long the batteries will last. The alkaline D cells it uses are reasonably inexpensive and the trade-off for the ease of installation vs. a wired fixture was a good solution for me. Calling this a “security” light is a stretch, for that I have wired LED floods that provide much more light, but for the occasional need illumination for a tripping hazard or storage closet, this is a useful fix. My only, very minor, complaint with this product is the location of the motion sensor. I mounted the light to the ceiling near a doorway with the beam aimed at a door below. It works perfectly for my needs – when I get close to the door it turns on. However, the motion sensor is shielded by the body of the light when I approach the door the lamp only “sees” me when I am almost directly under it. When I approach from the side it sees me from 15 feet away, so the sensor has good range if you are within its viewing angle.

Forget the electricians...buy these instead
I love these lights. They are small, very attractive, and incredibly easy to install. I discovered these sensor lights after trying to hire electricians to install a hard-wired version. Often, the company never got back to me or they dashed off a ridiculously high estimate. So I saved myself around $2,000. and installed these myself. I figure replacing batteries is similar in cost to whatever amount of electricity I would use. I chose the white color for those attached to my house, and dark brown for the fence and gazebo sensors. And this has to be the simplest DIY installation ever. Handy Hints: 1. Take the lights outside at night for placement in the optimal locations. Mark with a piece of tape, then install the next day. 2. Separate the light housing from the base plate. There are three holes on the base plate. Mark the holes, on the installation site, with a thin Sharpie, nail pilot holes, then use a drill to screw in the base plate. Very sturdy. 3. Insert the light housing and tighten the knuckle screw. That's it! I went out again at night to adjust the lights to point them where I needed the most light. I bought a total of 8 of these lights. I now have "security" lighting all around my house and can see where I am going when I take the pups out at night. (I may install another one on my front porch) The lights stay on for about 15 seconds and are not so bright that they can be seen from outer space. They allow me to see everything in my small yard without being annoying to my neighbors and you can adjust them to illuminate the exact area you need. (*if you are looking for "floodlights" that light a large area, these may not work for you) The company claims that they are waterproof, but I will place a piece of clear tape around the seam for those units that will be out in the rain. Love these. But I do not know why Amazon only stocks this model in white and it is frequently out of stock. (I had to buy the dark brown at my local Kroger store at twice the price!) I bought a few more of the white back ups in case they discontinue this model. I will update with both battery and product longevity.

Good, basic motion sensing spot light at a good price.
Skunks invaded our yard and these motion sensor lights are our last line of defense. We purchased a set of solar lights for locations that received enough sunlight but in shaded areas, we were in search of a reliable battery-powered motion sensor flood light with good battery life, weather sealing, good range, easy installation, and a bright enough light to scare critters away. After doing research online we took a chance on these Mr. Beams lights as they seemed to check most of the boxes and was available for what seemed like a very fair price. The 200 total lumens were on the lower side of our wish list and there was no way to increase the motion sensor on time but we ultimately figured we could live without those features. The Product The products once received were well packed and instructions were straightforward. These are no-frills lights with no real features, not even an on/off button. You just put batteries in and it works. Loading the batteries was easy enough however I will say the plastic door that holds the batteries I do wish was made of heavier-duty plastic. I was afraid I was going to break the door opening it and that is the only thing keeping the batteries in place. The rest of the unit seems well made although I have not had time to test its durability in inclement weather or in freezing temperatures. Installation Installation was very straightforward. Losen the small screw at the base, take the light off, drill the three holes where you want to mount it, and once the base is in place just place the light back in the keyed slot and turn the screw to tighten it in place. Took around 10 minutes to install. Performance The light came on as intended although I'd say the range was closer to 20ft rather than 30 for us. The light is reasonably bright for a single light but it is not as bright as the other solar lights we recently purchased. . I'll have to monitor it however to see if it is bright enough to scare critters away. Overall we are satisfied with the purchase. For the price, it is a good deal but I will see how it holds up over the long term, gauge battery performance, and handle bad weather before making a final judgment. Positives + Good price for 2 lights, seems to be on sale occasionally + Well made overall with weather sealing. Have not tested the sealing however + Super easy installation and mounting. + Foolproof with no buttons or settings. Just put batteries in and go. + Light is reasonably bright for being a single-bulb Neutral - An option to increase on time would have been nice, however, I realize this adds to the cost and complexity. Negatives - The battery door seems flimsier than the other parts. While it didn't break I can see it being a weak point and it's a vital part. - The sensor works fine but does seem to have a shorter range than specified.

Bright Idea, Wallet Nightmare, and Not Exactly a Marathon Runner
The Beams MB360XT is like that flashy gadget at a party — super bright (200 lumens, no less), wireless, battery-operated, and motion-sensing. Basically, it’s the James Bond of outdoor lights. Great for lighting up your dark corners or making sure you don’t trip over that mysterious garden gnome at night. But here’s the kicker: it’s expensive enough to make you reconsider your life choices. You pay premium for premium brightness and tech, but don’t expect this thing to stick around for the long haul. Unlike those other outdoor lights that stubbornly lasted 8 years, mine gave in like it had a better social life to attend to. So yeah, it’s bright and fancy, but if you want something that’s in it for the long haul (or at least until your next big BBQ), maybe keep your wallet handy and your expectations realistic. Bright? Yes. Durable? Eh... let’s just say it’s got a “here today, gone tomorrow” vibe.
