I figured it out
The equipment you get for the price on this is great, especially since I got it on sale for just over $300. As noted, the instructions are awful and it hurts to try and interpret them. It gives no idea on how to do initial setup and omits or buries a few key bits of info needed to get it going properly. After a couple rough evenings fighting with it, I got it sorted out. Here goes:First, initial setup. The heat press comes disconnected from the temperature controller. There's two pairs of cables that connect to the available ports on the front of the controller. Connect the other ends to the gold colored heat plates at their right sides, there are two holes that fit each cable. Tighten the smaller temperature sensor cables with a wrench if you have it, or tighten by hand (hard to reach, good luck). Slot the round metal heating element into the available holes, and make sure it pairs up with the correct temperature sensor (trace the cable back to the plug in the controller box etc.). Find a small hole along the back edge of the heating elements, tighten a screw within using the supplied Allen wrench to hold the heating element in place.Plug in the temperature controller. Flip the two switches on the back and you'll see the screens light up with temperature readouts. It will not heat up yet, there are two round buttons on the front that turn on or off the heat.IMPORTANT - Unlike other similar products, and against what seems like the product implies, you do not use the 'SET' key to set the desired temperature. Ignore that button, it is a ruse to trick you and make you feel dumb and annoyed. I think it is a reference to the Egyptian god of discord and violence.Instead, just press the up and down arrows to adjust the desired temperature. Mine defaulted to 210, I turned it down by mashing the down arrow a bunch of times, presto. After you have it at the desired temperature, remember that the SET key is a trick, don't press it, just wait until it stops flashing angrily and you're done.ALSO IMPORTANT - Doing the above is not enough. You must calibrate your device on initial setup, and probably every once in a while too. To do so, turn on the temperature controller and press the two round buttons on front to turn on the heat. Then press and hold the > key (sideways arrow) on both of the screens for about 5 seconds. After which a red light will start blinking rapidly to let you know everything is OK. It will continue to do so for anywhere between 10 minutes and 2 hours or so. Yes, that is a wide disparity. I did so a few times over trying to get things figured out, the first time took about 2 hours, further times went quicker.Note that when the red lights go from rapid blinking to slow blinking, that means it is done. Don't be like me thinking that maybe that means it's on step 2 or something, it will not proceed, it has completed. If you don't calibrate it as noted above, it will not control the temperature properly and will likely overshoot it.Hope this helps anyone struggling with this thing.

Temp controller🤬
The press works well... sort of. It heats up fast, built like a tank, bottle Jack works fine. The problem is the temp controller comes with hysterically bad translated directions which only serv as comic relief. These controllers are very.... shall I say industrially raw, and unless your an electrician good luck. I know I can set it at a certain temp and have it hold but I can only figure out how to turn heat on, or off. The temp readout seems accurate and is my only guide and it continues increasing temp by about 25’ after turning off heating. So unless I time it right, I have to wait for it to cool back into whatever range I want. Then keep turning the heat elements on and off to hold temp. I’m trying to research and hopefully figure out the temp controllers. All in all seems like a well built press besides for the difficult temp controllers.

Don’t buy it.
They sent zero instructions with extremely complicated temperature controls. There was also hydraulic fluid all over the whole machine.

So far so good
So far so good. Feels very durable and well made. We will see how it does over time. Plates seem to be evenly heated. Operates fine with a separate digital control component.
