The Kindest Running Book Ever
What a beautiful, kind and thoughtful book. Inspired and thoughtful were not emotions I was braced for to a book ostensibly about running technique. It absolutely is about running technique; and it will answer questions and help anyone who ever runs; even if it is just for the bus, but it is so much more!If you run, are a runner, or love a runner, you will love this book and benefit from it. Plenty of in depth facts and figures about running and runner, plenty of simple and easy to follow protocols, diagrams and programmes. The unexpected impact comes from the sharing of well written and inspiring stories and the supportive and caring tone of the book. The gifts that these decades of experience and learning give to the reader/athlete (as Mike says we are all athletes when we run from our 1st step to world class achievement) Most excitingly of all the methodology works, and it is bringing more joy and more physical and mental connectedness to every week that I am applying it. Thank you Mike.

My favourite running book to date and a methodology that really works!
When it comes to running and movement, Mike’s knowledge and experience is hard to beat. His book beautifully presents his methodology for teaching people how to run better, run faster, and prevent injury whilst also sharing some of the most inspirational stories which make you want to get out there and run right away!I love the illustrations of exercises and training programs which are accompanied by simple instructions, making it easy for anyone to get started changing their own movement patterns and running technique. I would recommend this book to all runners/athletes/coaches of any age and ability, or even to those who wish to get into running for the first time and are not sure where to start- everyone can take something valuable away from it.Having also tried the methodology for myself, I can confirm it really works. Thank you, Mike!

This is a MUST read for all runners
This book is by far the BEST book I have read about run technique. Whilst it's packed full of valuable and factual information which is backed by research and Mike's own hands on experience with both elite and recreational runners, it is easy and enjoyable to read. You'll be able to recognise your own running style and connect it to the injuries that you've experienced. It will also guide you on how to fix these issues and how to become a much better, stronger and faster runner. It also goes way beyond just running and looks at functional movement, walking patterns, strength and daily habits that all contribute to HOW we run. It's absolutely fascinating and in my opinion, a MUST read for all runners. Mike is a genius when it comes to all things running and rehabilitation, there is SOOOO much to learn from him.

Essential read for all
This non autobiographical book is essential reading from elite athletes to occasional joggers. The author draws on a lifetime of experience which for me simplified running and movement, making the book easy to follow, learn and work from. The author confesses that this isn't rocket science but to have the basics written with such clarity and good humour is refreshing. I already recommended to work colleagues, friends and my parents.

Great book
Started reading the book with 4 weeks before my marathon so didn’t want to change or add anything to my style although I know I don’t have the best of styles and if I’m to get quicker then I have to improve my style/form. Can’t put the book down put over really well for the lay man, easy reading but very informative and like most things you will have to be committed to change. It is not a book about training schedules but would accompany one very well, it’s a book to improve your running style and help keep you injury free.

Genuinely fascinating book that makes me want to put my trainers on
I love running books and this is a brilliant one to add to the collection. Mike's passion shines through every page with his hands-on experiences that scientists would dream of! Loads of interesting stories and anecdotes. Comfort in knowing we're all unique, niggles can be fixed whatever your size, age or experience, and we can all find ways of running better!

Whether you love running, like running or loathe running (but do it anyway)...read this book
I'd heard of the author through my interest in running and running technique and I was surprised when I saw his new book listed on Amazon. How can you teach running technique through a book, I thought!Well, boy was I wrong! From reading the story of the author's final run to the fundamentals of biomechanics to the stories of runner's he's helped throughout his career and all the stats from the elite runners I've learned so much and can't put the book down. There's even a handy training schedule and exercise plan that I'll be using to change my own form. Amazing book for a great price, H

This book ACTUALLY teaches you how to improve running technique…
This is not an impractical theory book on running biomechanics. It actually teaches you, step-by-step, how to improve - including common compensations you’re likely to make. It’s also extremely eye-opening in determining why you might be getting injured. I found out why I was REALLY getting ITB issues by looking at the movement patterns section. Definitely recommend!!
