A winner on all counts
I use this as my "workhorse" monitor, many hours per day with my MacBook Air. I've been using it for a month now. The image is crisp, and there's a slider control that lets me bring brightness down to where it's not too much for my eyes. I had asked whether there was a brightness slider prior to purchase, and a ViewSonic rep actually replied — I was impressed. How many monitor manufacturers would have a rep replying to questions on Amazon?I would buy this monitor again without hesitation. I gave it 4 stars for gaming, but only because I didn't want to create a potentially false impression when in fact I never, ever do gaming, so I don't know how good it is for gaming.A couple weeks earlier I had purchased a Samsung monitor that I discovered did not give a crisp image, nor did it have a brightness slider—only an "eye-saver" button that made the image too dark to do graphics. I returned it. No more Samsung for me!

Nice monitor. But removing the foot stand so you can use a VESA mount is tricky but possible.
I don't play computer games so I can't say how it would work for games. But nothing stands out to make me think there would be an issue with gamers. The backlight duty cycle is fast enough that I cannot perceive any blinking. This monitor is a second monitor to my main much bigger display in Win 10.I use this monitor in a vertical position (requiring an external VESA desk top stand).I use it to display pages of PDFs, and various documents in portrait mode. And since the LCD is IPS the viewing angle is pretty good. Much better than the TN LCD monitor I am replacing.NOTE: The monitor comes with the foot stand attachment already attached. If you are going to use a VESA mount you will want to remove the foot stand mount. It requires removing one screw to start with BUT that's not all! It still won't simply slide out. You have to use a small screw driver to gently pry up and edge because the edge snaps over a plastic edge and is quite locked in place. You cannot get it out without using a small screw driver as a pry bar. They provide no instructions or pictures showing you how. Be careful not to struggle so much you break the glass of the monitor. Once I found the right position for my screwdriver it came out easily. But I spent about 45 minutes struggling with it. Viewsonic really needs some drawings and pictures and even a video showing exactly where to pry to get that foot stand mount off. It was so hard to get it off that I thought for a while it had been glued. Viewsonic even put a little piece of black tape on the thing so it would jam in even tighter adding to the difficulty of removing it. BTW, the monitor wobbles on the foot stand if that black tape is not in place so obviously they had to add that piece of tape after production started to fix that wobble. But I'm using the VESA mount so getting rid of the foot stand was my goal.

Excellent picture, weak sound
As the title says, the picture quality is excellent. I do not play games but the response is more than fast enough for office applications and video. The screen is also quite bright, more than necessary for most environments. There is no noticeable flickering or light bleed at normal contrast and brightness (they both are at 75% at the moment, which is fine in a brightly lit room). The stand is sturdy but not adjustable in height.Colors do not perfectly but closely match those on my laptop's built-in display (a 4k Dell Precision 5530 with good reputation for color accuracy) so that is not an issue. Of course, moving windows between the 4k and 1080p displays will yield funky results, but that's not the display's fault. The one downside is the tinny sound from the built-in speakers. They are not loud at all and the sound lacks bass, treble and much of everything else in between. It is a nice touch to have included speakers but they are not adequate. I had to switch back to the laptop's speakers. It is not a fatal flaw since it is so easy to add inexpensive, good quality speakers, just unexpected.

Great form factor and picture quality. Horrible on screen display (OSD) control design!
If you are looking for a lightweight, VESA mountable display, this is the perfect display. It is one of the lightest 24 inch monitors out there with VESA mount. I use two of these displays with two amazon basics single arm monitor stands on a standing desk with no wobble.I upgraded to this display from multiple 19 inch Lenovo Thinkvision displays so as far as I can tell, it's a big step up in quality and viewing area.Cons: The OSD controls are some of the most unintuitive controls ever made. The buttons are 5 identical buttons running underneath the display with small black icon labels that cannot be read in the dark. The power button is one of these five buttons so when you go to calibrate the display or adjust it to match another display, you inevitably move your fingers from the buttons and need to turn on a light to figure out where you need to place your fingers again. You will also press the power button on accident as a result. If you never use the display's adjustment settings you'll never notice and issue but many of the monitor's features like overdrive for lower response time and blue light filter (half the reason for getting it) are buried in the maze of menus.

Great monitors for the price..
I have a online business, so my computers are necessary. I have two, with a total of three monitors. I purchased a new main monitor last year, but my other two were getting very old and the picture quality was just not there. They were getting tired and old.So I decided to pick up two of these and I could not be happier. While they may not be super high quality, they are fantastic for the price, it's a real bargain. They are so much brighter and have such a better picture than the previous ones. Mounted both of them on VESA arms and they mounted perfectly.I do not use the speakers, though tried them a little and they are what you'd expect. How they sound are another reason it would be nice if they did not include them.My only though, I kind of wished I would have gotten the bigger size, these are a little small. But I wanted to save desk space, so smaller was better. But if you have the room, you might want to think about getting bigger. Just something to think about.Really happy with the performance and the price, would gladly recommend.

Excellent monitor
I needed a wider monitor for some graphics programs. This one is actually lighter than my old 19inch unit. The menu buttons are on the rear right lower corner and easy to use.

Good second monitor bought on sale
It's only worth it if you buy this on sale.I use it as a second monitor, would not recommend for a primary monitor because it's just not large enough and I find the picture quality more 720p than 1080.

Great compare to what you pay
It is great for what you pay. Just note if you need higher level of display there is not height adjustment.
