DELTA FAUCET RP18627 Delta Tub and Shower Faucets and Accessories, Chrome

This extension is newly designed and worked great. The extension is made out of a harder plastic and fit well. I changed out from acrylic handles to brushed nickel handles. The screw is also redesigned to allow it to fit inside of a brass handle which adds extra support for the Allen head screw to seat onto. The only thing to remember is to order two if you are replacing both sides. It doesn’t come with two when you order it.

I google searched by photo and added "water diverter" to the search to find this replacement part for a 30+ year old tub to shower hose water diverter. It was exactly what was needed. The part replaced did not have the center screw installed so I am very surprised it lasted this long.

Have very old tub hardware, the extender and knob broke on a B&K brand diverter. This extender fit perfectly, you can't find it in the hardware stores...it's 3" long x 3/4" diameter. I put a H31 knob on it as recommended in Q&A sections from the Delta website, this stem has a "D" shape on the end. If replacing hot and cold knobs, you'll need parts H41. Because it's not B&K brand (which isn't made anymore), the diverter arrow indicator can only click into the knob one way, so instead of up and down it points left to right. I might see if I can fix this myself somehow, if not I can live with it. With the cost of the extender and knob I spent at grand total of $10.37! Can't go wrong at that price for a DIY repair. In fact I'll be picking up extra stems just in case for future repairs.

Worked perfectly

This repaired the broken valve. The long bolt included, helps reinforce the new valve.

This fits in the space of the original shaft extender, but it's a single piece instead of three, AND the long screw fits securely into the shaft of the valve and makes the whole assembly really solid. I assume the screw is "stainless" because it looks like it and it doesn't appear to be chrome plated as the Amazon description implies. (Chrome probably isn't a good idea here.) I don't know how long it might last, but it looks and feels much more solid than the original which I assume was installed in the 1970s.

It works great, however it would be much more beneficial if it were made of brass to last!!! There’s a crappy reason they’re made from plastic, they break easily and you are constantly buying them!!! 😠

These are unobtainium in plumbing supply stores. Arrived within the stated delivery time and replaced /fixed my shower taps which would have been junk otherwise. New faucet springs, and one extensions = as good as new.
