🌧️ Rain or shine, style and sustainability combine!
The Algreen Athena 80 Gallon Plastic Outdoor Rain Barrel is a stylish and functional solution for rainwater collection. Made from durable roto-molded plastic, it features a brass spigot, corrosion-proof screen guard, and a classic brownstone design that enhances any outdoor space while promoting water conservation.

Cracked and leaking
The media could not be loaded. When the barrel fills up, the back bulges. Now it's cracked and all the water sprays out making this barrel completely useless. My return window has closed so now I'm stuck with an inferior product that didn't even last 10 months. Would NOT recommend.

Nice design
We built a stand for it to raise it up a little higher to get better water pressure. It’s pretty lightweight for it’s size but I guess that’s good since it will be heavy when it’s full. Have not had a heavy rain yet to see how it works or how the spigot works. Kind of expensive for plastic.

Good pot
It is great. Arrived a little bit dented but popped out to normal as it filled

Poorly Made, Cut Corners on the Design
First off, as far as rain barrels go, this one is very attractive. It's also HUGE, which is nice. There are a couple of proprietary-sized tubes where you can connect other barrels. I'd rather see a standard hose adapter, especially at that price. The biggest issue is the quality of the barrel. One of the valves (Lower Drainage Valve) they give you is plastic. It's a piece of junk. The second one they give you is a nice brass one, but the brass fits into a hole that is threaded in plastic. The brass valve didn't go in easily and if you crank on it you'll quickly strip out the plastic threads and the whole thing will be worthless. They should have put a brass fitting inside of the barrel to receive the brass valve. Mine was not watertight. I'm going to try a replacement, because I really like the look of it, but I'm 90% sure it will be the same issue.

Needs a better design
There are pros and cons to this rain barrel. Pros: It takes no time at all to set up. You just need a saw or knife to cut the overflow on the barrel, a drill to drill holes on the part where you could put flowers, and a screw drive to screw the plastic screen down. Simple enough if you have those tools. Cons: you need to make sure you have those tools. The position of the overflow spouts is not ideal if you need to push the barrel against the house. This makes it difficult for me to catch water because I have an open runoff from my roof. The water catch area on the barrel is too small for this reason, so you really have to have a downspout going directly to the catchment screen. The other con is that the barrel started to leak at the bottom spigot and it doesn't close all the way.

Quality, Capacity, and Style all in one!
Great rain barrel! Holds 80-gallons and nicely compliments our stone patio with bronze pergola. This is important, since our corner lot is viewable from all angles and we did not want any hassle from the HOA. We also didn't want to settle for anything less than stylish. You wouldn't believe how many suggestions were shot down by our home review board (my wife). The hose connections are all solid, just be aware that you're connecting brass to plastic or plastic to plastic and take common sense precautions when setting up. Good versatility with overflow ports too. I added a water diverter from my downspout into a port (rather than terminate downspout on top of the barrel), which allows overflow to continue down the downspout and away from my foundation. I think I chose the Oatey 14209 diverter. The barrel fills up very quickly with a short rain, and 80 gallons is a lot of water. I'd purchase it again!

My Potted Plants are Very Happy
The rain water travels down the rain chain and into the barrel. No muss, no fuss. I fill my water cans from the spigot and water. I potted creeping jenny and put it on top of the barrel and it looked like a green waterfall. I love it. I have had neighbors ask me about the barrel.

Nice 'not the average looking' rain barrel!!
We have only had this product about one week, but perfect so far! Unfortunately, we are in a drought being in California, and our water is SUPER expensive. We had been hauling all of our household water that we could, out to water our few plants....now just putting in this. The spout is very high would be good for a large amount of water. We attached a 6' hose to the back drain, and hung it with the hook it came with. We are filling watering cans with this. We put a lovely planter in the front and have had no problem keeping the water we dump in the back drain area...AND this looks so much nicer than a rain barrel! Check the measurements we did not pay much attention, but it is VERY large! Smaller would be better for our purposes, but it looks good and matches the minimal landscape we have! No CONS after a weeks use.

Be informed before purchasing!
June 2019 - This product may have left the supplier in good condition but it all ends there. This product barely meets minimum in sturdiness. I was very disappointed in a Canadian product being so poor. Upon arrival the shipping box it came in was torn and had big holes. The product label had unstuck from the barrel and was sitting half out the shipping box. The only reason it was still here is the minimal glue it started the journey with. This label is important, in that it has picture diagrams (minimal) to show the parts and how to use the product. The worst thing for me is the chewed up condition of the plastic hose attachment on the bottom. It'll take some work to replace it or make it usable again. With a little forethought, Algreen could have used a zip tie to attach the included parts to the corrosion proof screen guard. The baggie they originally came in had exploded and all the parts were rattling around loose inside the barrel. They were a pain to get out of the barrel.

Great rain water barrel
Great barrel, awesome look. The bottom hole was broken on delivery but Algreen support was helpful.

CHEAPLY MADE !
This water reservoir look very nice. Toscane inspiration. BUT it is really cheaply made. The BIG problem is with the valve at the bottom . The way the valve is fixed there is poorly done. Only black silicone NO metal joint or fixture to maintain the valve in place. So when you open the valve to liberate water it brakes instantly. I recommend not to buy.

Missing Parts.
we just open the box after returning from vacation and it appears that we did not receive the accessories that should have come with it. This would include the spigot, etc. I couldn't find on this page where to contact the manufacturer directly but I am hoping that they see this and respond.
