If you want a linear compression this is your tool. The only thing is adjusting it is a little tight. These are not standard channel locks, they are much higher quality.

Awesome tool just got them 2 days ago. You can adjust to the size of the jaw on compressions using the printed numbers on the tool itself the 22 mark wouldn't be for a 22 nut but once you remember the corresponding number you don't even need to put it on the nut to get the size right as it closes a little when you squeeze the lever, saves a little time. I think i use 22 for a half-inch nut but don't quote me lolYou can perform close to a ratcheting action to tighten those radiator tails and compression nuts by loosening your grip and allowing the jaws to slip over the nuts edge to the next flat surface and squeeze again.It's easy to overtighten compression joints with this tool so some care is needed.May not get under all boilers to loosen flow and return nuts but if it does fit it fits well without rounding off the nuts slipping and banging your knuckles or even worse cutting them. They are my go-to spanners now but I still use my Bahcos for access to some places I'm just more careful of smashing my knuckles.It's great for Jobbing, maintenance and installation work.I don't normally do reviews but I had to say something for my fellow engineers. I always look for a plumbers review when buying tools. You know what, I'm in a good mood now I may write some more reviews about other products, just the good stuff though lol.

I have 180mm pair already and they are great but the 250mm pair are not the quality i'm used to getting from knipex nor what I pay the high price tag for, the button/spring are sticky and you don't get the smooth action of a quality tool that you should get, I'm even concerned that Amazon may have pushed a counterfeit tool out to me here as the tool just turned up in some bubble wrap and having purchased many Knipex tools i'v never had that before. I also have the 300mm on order so let's hope that's better.

I’ve got no imperial spacers sockets I only have metric , had some old nuts to undo on several odd jobs lying around the workshop, these came next day out the box all jobs done in a jiffy , the magics in the parallel jaws a truly amazing tool that many will copy and be inferior in so many ways, Knipex is quality through and through

I love the Knipex pliers wrenchs and already have a few, they are extremely well made and an excellent design.The only size I was short of was the 250mm-but after delivery I realised the tool delivered was substantially different to the one in the picture-it was the new model-they had shaved a lot of metal from the tool for lightness which gave a much less substantial feel in the hand.For some reason they have moved the rubber up the handle on one of the legs-so when you grip the tool quite often you are gripping the steel-which is obviously not as comfortable.The tool is well made but as I haven't used it that much-time will tell if it is as robust as the old design.G

Expensive and worth it! I've carried adjustable's for years in the Navy and Off-shore oil industry and still do (Irega are the best now in my opinion) but now I also carry a Knipex for general use. I have used mine for a couple of years of hard use and it is showing only a little wear and tear. The tool is engineered really well and is built to a high standard. The main advantage of a Knipex is the action of turning also compresses the jaws and squeezes tightly on the nut. This is incredibly useful when working with older/rusted/damaged equipment. I highly recommend this tool!Update: two more years of offshore work and still in top condition, excellent quality!
