Plenty of room for him to stand, move around a bit and lay down. The only down side is it is difficult to set up alone, I did it, but it was a bit hard to do and in limited space, if putting in a small area I suggest raising it then move it to the if possible. I shopped around at different stores and this one was cheaper and stronger than the other one I have at my mom's for him. He seems to be very comfortable in it. I like that the doors have 2 latches, 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom, also 2 entry doors. He is 4 years old so he will not grow out of it.
