L'Aquarelle French Watercolor Paint, Metal Set of 18 Half Pans

OMG! I absolutely love these watercolors! If I had known how beautiful these are, I would have purchased the $200 dollar set instead of all the Daniel Smith watercolor tubes. Don't get me wrong, DS colors are great, but Sennelier paints just go on so smoothly, they activate with no problem and they are simply lovely. I bought the 18 pan set, then purchased 6 more so I could have 24. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I highly recommend these, if you are just starting out, invest in these paints. It'll be well worth it!

What vibrant smooth and perfect paints! I cannot believe how well these paints blend and adjust. They are gorgeous. The texture is smooth as silk. The sizes are exactly what you expect they are very expensive but omg- you will create some crazy beautiful things just because the colors are so pretty. These watercolors will up your game!

I use Sennelier tube watercolour paints in my regular palette and I love them. I like that they rewet easily and always stay moist. I don't enjoy scrubbing at the pans to get paint out. But of you live in a very humid place, they might be runny especially in a travel palette. For me that has not been an issue. That being said, these are half pans and seem to be extruded so they will be perfect to use as a travel palette. This well made metal palette has a Sennelier logo printed on top. It comes with 18 half pans of rich pigments. There is extra space to add more half or full pans if you choose to expand your palette. The included colours are more than enough to paint any subject. I love the convenience of buying it on Amazon at a good price.

I open-stock most of my wc paints, and I'd suggest most people do that for Schminkes and (except one) Daniel Smiths since those brands' sets tend to shove in opaque, dated, and overall awful paints for a premium price! This one set I'll review because it's my primary go-to, and I've since bought more pans and tubes to replace the few "not best" Senneliers: "bright red" (what IS that? Shame!) and ivory black (opaque, muddy mess). I probably won't replace the Payne's Grey, but just don't overuse it in a painting and it's fine. One yellow (PY3) and the Vermillion are all the yellow/oranges I need, though the set does come with a PY150 (nickel azo yellow) and the rest of the paints, I'm very fond of. I added Rose Madder (for a "quin rose"), the lovely Cobalt Violet Deep (YESSS!), Indigo, Blue Indanthrene, Phathalos Blue and Turquoise (the "Forest Green" can serve the Phthalo Green needs), and Burnt Umber. I can't believe it didn't come with a Burnt Umber. And I'll probably get their neutral tint. I simply adore these paints! They play well with my Schminkes, QoR, and (grumble grumble) Daniel Smiths. I already have extra tubes of their Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine Deep. LPT: I use magnetic tape on these half-pans (that goes for all my 24 ct tins). Filling the pans from tubes is a pleasure, unlike other brands. Even the phthalo turquoise (best ever!) was a simple fill. I simply love this set and am excited to have two openings left! Just dump the Bright Red and Ivory Black and add a phthalo for starters (and indigo: it gets so much use!)

I am very pleased with the quality and the colors of this set. These paints rewet easily. While several of the paints contain more than one pigment, I find the colors mix well, producing beautiful new colors with little muting of intensity. The metal box palette is well manufactured and has room for more whole or half pans, if one wishes to add more.

I love the texture and saturation of these paints. I didn’t have any others with honey binders before and these are so smooth I love painting and mixing with them.

I had hoped even after reading reviews that the tin pallet would be fine. The paints are great and extruded pans are full in my set, but the tin pallet is dented. That said, it is usable and I will happily to keep it. For the price, this set is really great! It’s professional quality and is a joy to use. It’s honey based so is different than a lot of others. But if you play with it and learn what all it does, you will enjoy it. I have a lot of tubes from Senniller too which I think are a bit better just because I prefer tubes. I do wish shipping didn’t tear up the tin pallet.

Smooth, easy washes, rich pigment, and transparency that makes layering easy to do without losing the translucent nature of watercolors... Also, the ease of accessing color is wonderful. Barely touch the pigment to find a fully saturated color emerge. I’ve not yet tried some professional grade watercolors that compete: WN or DS. But I have worked with Schminke and some others just a slight step down. The pigment, transparency, ease of washes and the color palette thrills me to work on a hobby and quasi-professional level. Schminke was often too faint in the pigments that were non-traditional, and too staining and pigmented at times by comparison with darker reds. The price is very good for the quality and for my purposes, the 18 colors offer plenty to work with.

Je regrette juste de pas l'avoir acheté plus tôt. J'ai essayé d'autres marques, qui sont bien, mais la qualité du pigment ici, la capacité à mélanger, à fusionner, à éviter les aureoles... Un plaisir indescriptible. Et je précise que je peins depuis à peine un mois. C'est sûr, c'est un prix l'aquarelle extra fine. Évitez vous les errances et partez sur du sûr. Cette aquarelle rend vos peintures bien plus belles et motive à progresser

i colori sono ottimi , spedizione rapida, ma due colori non sono neanche a 2\3 del godet phthalo geeen light e warm sepia. con cio che costano non va bene.

I like them as they are very sheer and seem to glow under more layers.
