I purchased this (these, I bought 2) not as paper towel holders, but as canning jar ring holders during canning season. I can stack more than a canner full of rings on the post and it keeps them from rolling off the counter during the process of filling, wiping and covering the jars. As an added bonus, the way that it's made creates a nice "finger loop" to carry it when your hands are full! Overall, a very attractive and sturdy solution to a small kitchen canning season! Well made and nice quality that goes with many styles.
