I thought with the description saying tobacco it was going to smell smokey, but its more of a sweet, but still masculine smell. Huge fan. The hold is perfect - it's quite a strong hold, but I wouldn't say it goes as far as making the hair "crispy." I have a couple annoying cowlicks and it deals with those nicely. Definitely more for people looking for more of a polished, formal, tight, in-place look (think Don Draper vibes) - if you're going for some sort of messy/natural look, this isn't for that. It also easily washes out with just water. Lastly, the colour - probably the coolest thing in my opinion, I've been using the product for about 2 and a half months (and nearing the end of one tin with daily use), and I can definitely see that my bit of grey hairs shine just a little bit more. I can smell it from across the room. Pleasant scent, and some hold for the fly away whiskers. Hold could be better, but that's just being picky. I think that complaints about the smell being too strong may simply be using too much. I put a tiny amount on a comb, and then comb my beard and it controls without being obvious or wet looking.
