Fun little pen, flawless writing
Updating my review to 5 stars out of 5. I've been using this as my daily writer for 2 months. I carry it in my pants pocket, or in my white handbag, and it has never leaked. I even dropped it (capped) on the ground and it didn't break. The pen comes apart completely for cleaning and I was able to clean every piece of it when switching inks from brown to blue and then to green. I was worried about flow issues with extended writing but haven't actually encountered any, even when taking vigorous notes in meetings. I absolutely love this pen and I'm buying another so I can loan this one out from time to time. --- Original review: It's a fun little pen! It holds a lot of ink, and writes smoothly and evenly. However, I noticed some lightening/fading after a few lines of text. You can see it in the picture: the line starts dark and bold with opaque ink, and ends feathery with the ink translucent. To me, this means the nib can't keep up with the ink flow, and may eventually lead to skipping. The nib has a small amount of give or flex, but not very noticeable unless you press very hard. Filling the pen with ink with the eyedropper was easy and straightforward. The pen feels really big and chunky in the hand, but comfortable, and fun -- so different than my other fountain pens. I believe the body is resin and the section (place where your fingers go) is acrylic. I wish it were all resin but what can ya do. Overall: Pros: - Fun, different, notable - Inexpensive - Large ink reservoir - Easy to fill - Resin quality Cons: - Ink flow issues possible - Acrylic section

Great little pen, delightful
I love this little pen. It's adorably small when not posted, but it feels more or less like a normal pen when it is posted. It's easy to grip. Comes with a good nib. It's very easy to fill and has a decently sized reservoir considering it's so small. It quickly became my daily writer with one of my journals, and I dropped it a few times without damaging anything, so it's rugged enough for someone goofy like me. You might not like it if you have an enormous hand, but it's pretty awesome otherwise.

Super cute, good writer
Super cute chonky, chubby little eyedropper fountain pen. The (M) nib is really very good, very smooth, & juicy. Quite a good writer. Best to post it. Love the clear demo model. Highly recommended.

The pen is great, the nib is not
This can be a fun little chub of a fountain pen IF you are willing to switch out the frustrating nib that skips, is scratchy, and has a lot of drag. A nib upgrade is easy to perform. I recommend the purchase of a #6 JoWo nib. They are affordable, write like butter, and you can choose from extra fine point all the way to stub. Just pull the JoWo nib and feeder from its plastic housing and push into the plastic housing of the Moonman Q1. (I found a video "Fountain Pen Friction Fit Nib Swap Tutorial" posted on the Youtube channel, Mystery Arts to clear and easy to follow successfully.) So why would you want to bother with this? Because this Q1 pen body is really fun to use, solidly build and is like a little lava lamp showing off the ink supply. The pen holds a solid 3 ml of fluid. In fact, I think of it as a little ink test tube for your own experimentation. Here's why: The hearty opening and reservoir is handy should you wish to mix different inks together in it. Or you can add shimmer and shake it like a snow globe. I like to water down some of my heavily saturated inks to create lighter pastels... the large capacity allows for all these little experiments of one which can be quite gratifying. I have even opened the Q1 and shoved another pen into that wide opening for a quick refill on the go. Yep! I refilled my Pilot Metropolitan Con-40 directly from the opening of my Moonman Q1 (and still had enough ink in the Q1 to continue using it for a loooong time.) So, to me the pen body is unique enough (and fun enough) to justify the replacement of the nib. I find it comfortable to use posted (the cap posts well) and not posted (which lets the fat little thing fit right in the crook of my hand between the index finger and thumb - which is a surprisingly fun way to hold a pen when you're feeling super lazy. And this pen doesn't burp ink either! That can be a problem with eye-dropper pens but, not this one. If you elect to purchase this pen with plans to change the nib you won't be disappointed with the JoWo #6 If you do not intend to change the nib this pen will likely be a disappointment. I'm glad I went for it for the reasons mentioned above. I also plan to rub a little silicone grease along the threads to ensure a good seal. Silicone grease is cheap and easy to find and will give me peace of mind as I toss this little chub sideways into a fanny pouch and take it on adventures. Hope this is helpful. Fountain pens are a lot of fun and this one does have some appeal.

Unique, comfortable,
I used to write notes in my school days with a novelty pen that was fat like this (fatter even), everyone got a kick out of it but it was so comfortable for long days of note taking so it was a serious boon to me. So when i found this similar fountain pen I had to have it. This is a good fit for people with smaller hands, even posted it doesn't seem like it would be a good fit for people with larger hands. I'm also big on transparent things like demonstrators and the clear version of the pen with the gold accents almost has all the right aesthetics. The only improvement possible in that department is if the feed and feed housing were also transparent. Speaking of the feed housing, the first one I ordered was kind of scratched up but a replacement took care of that issue. I purchased the bent ("fude") nib which is a Jinhao nib. It's pretty cool for my needs, checking school work, writing tiny notes in margins, etc, being able to write fat lines and perhaps medium lines depending on how you hold the nib. It also came with an EF moon man nib too. the EF is pretty fine but not like Japanese level EF, so other nibs wil be needed if one really wants to write small details easily. Some fountain pens out there can accept a Zebra G or Nikko G nib for a flex nib conversion, but this one can't. This pen writes smoother than some of the cheaper fountain pens I have used, but probably because this pen has a larger feed than those. However to maintain smooth writing it still takes the regular regimen of fountain pen tactics like flushing and all that. Which can be annoying, but are not unique to this fountain pen by any means and smoother, inks do a better job than others and it holds a lot of ink. I might order another just to have different colors to alternate between.

It’s a No
This is cute but that is where it stops for me. Loaded this up with ink and it kinda worked at the start and now nothing. I can’t return it since it’s full of ink so wasted my money and time on this.

Love it. Get it
This Little Fat Man is fantastic. My first Moon Man pen, it makes me want to look at more of their products. This is an eye dropper style pen, the first one that I have tried, and I am hooked on that convenience! The nib is smooth, writes on any paper. It always starts right up when you need it. So cool to see the beautiful ink splashing around. The pen is short and fat and hold lots of ink. The cap posts well and lengthens the pen to a regular size in your hand. I have not seen any scratches on the barrel after posting the cap. This pen is an economic value for an every day carry that, in my opinion, you can rely on for quick notes or day-long meetings. Be careful not to fill the barrel to the rim - my embarrassing 😳 rookie mistake.

writes great. materials have change.
This is my second pen to buy from this seller. The first one was wood as described and it was beautiful. The second one seems to be made out of plastic and it is not as beautiful. The pens write really well and love how compact they are. They are easy to use and have a good grip. The ink flows great and I love my penmanship when I am writing with it.

My new favourite pen
I wanted this pen for some time but it has been out of stock. Strangely, the small pen is fantastic for people with large fat fingers, of which I'm a candidate. The pen has beautiful lines and as I sit in my office the sun coming through the window shines through the transparent body illuminating the ink within. Filling the pen is simple, but allow for a lot of room and paper towels just in case. The writing experience of the broad nib is exquisite in comparison to more expensive pens, but don't expect platinum or gold nib performance. This is a light daily workhorse pen and will provide long writing periods with little fatigue. I recommend.
