Very accurate. I have confidence in this thermometer. For $2.49 you can't complain.
I was using one of those ubiquitous cheap digital thermometers on Amazon. The temperature fluctuated a lot with it. And I just really started to doubt it. I ordered this guy and it was 6 degrees hotter than the digital! Sure enough the digital thermometer was way off by 6 degrees! My poor fish was in 86 degrees water for a month. I am new to the hobby. And he is a betta....so this is the extreme end of the high temperature range. I'm just so glad I bought this.I tested this in a cup crammed full of ice and some water. This temperature read a perfect 32 degrees....this is how you calibrate a thermometer. The digital thermometer read 26. I don't think i'll ever be able to trust a digital thermometer again. The suction cup is glued in place. You can not swivle the thermometer to face a certain way. This doesn't bother me as it ws so cheap. This is $2.49. It works great. And is easily hidden behind a plant. I think the people who said the suction cup broke....or left a mark....i'm pretty sure those reviewers have acrylic tanks. Probably low quality acrylic. This is a $2.49 thermometer that is 100% accurate.UPDATE: i have now tested this thermometer against a few digitals. One being a very expensive digital. This thermometer is spot on accurate.

Perfect
This is a great thermometer. The suction cup is super strong - it never moves around once placed in the aquarium. (My male betta fish loves to "rest" on top of this thermometer, and it still doesn't move!) The numbers are a little small, but very clear and easy to read. The green "ideal" temperature range feature makes it super easy to do a quick check on your tank, even while just walking by. And it seems very accurate - always registers the slight ups and downs of temperature due to water changes, etc....Nothing bad to say about this product - great quality, great price. Will definitely buy again for future tanks.

Nice but not perfect. Possible quality issues
I feel a little silly writing a review for this but just in case it helps someone else . . . ordered three of these and they do the job. It is a simple glass mercury driven thermometer with a green safety mark so it's easy to see if your temperature is in the safe range. It is large enough to see without being obtrusive. I used to have a large hang in the side tank that you couldn't miss . . . subtracted from the tank. You can use the thermometer with or without the plastic suction cup. The plastic from the suction cup quickly turned from a clear to a milky white. Not sure why that happened, if it reacted to the warmth of the water or something in the water, but all three did it. You do have to be careful to make sure the thermometer is high enough in the suction cup or it will pop off the side or pull out of the suction cup. I found that out of the three I bought, two suction cups work fine, the other refuses to stay on the side regardless of where or in which tank I place it (I have both acrylic and glass tanks). The thermometer does float in the tank, but the problem is it bobs around so you are never sure where it is, and it's hard to read temperatures without pulling it out (usual problem with mercury thermometers and how the line gets thin or thick depending on where you're viewing it from) so I don't see how you would realistically use this without a suction cup. I feel like I should buy another one but also feel like even though this was a cheap purchase, it should have worked, and I don't like the idea of giving them more money for a defective unit.

Accurate
I bought 4 of these because I loved how they looked. It is very accurate, the suction cup works flawlessly, unlike other suction cups who don't do their jobs. If you so choose, the one I use in my pre treated water bucket for water changes, I just keep it in there without the suction cup and it does like it says, it floats! So I can grab it easily and make sure the temp is the same as in my aquariums and when adding more water to the bucket and rinse it out I just stick it to the side of the bucket while I rinse and repeat and it sucks on really well and never falls off the tub when I'm emptying it, so it works! It sticks and stays that way unless I use my nail to dislodge it from the wall of the bucket.

Wonderful value for a great little old school simple thermometer
I'm not sure what product other reviewers received, but the Marina thermometer that was shipped to me is VERY easy to read. Even has a green area to indicate the perfect temp range for most tropical plants and fish.YOU MUST READ IT STRAIGHT ON **see photos** Cannot be READ FROM SIDE VIEW. Simple fix, you adjust the thermometer within the suction cup and VIOLA! Just BE CAREFUL WHEN ADJUSTING, IT IS GLASS AND WILL BREAK. duh Very inexpensive & accurate. No batteries to replace? I'm in.Unobtrusive (@ 5" long) and easily hidden if desired. Personally I do not mind the way it looks in my aquarium.Hope this helps!

Cheap, works, but not durable
Cheap and works, but overtime the suction cup hardens and becomes unusable. Mine ended up floating (with suction cup still attached lol) for a while until I finally took it out to take the suction cup off. As I was doing that I dropped it about 2 feet and it shattered.Overall it's cheap though and lasts a while if you're careful and replace the suction cup. I am buying two more to use as floating thermometers in my tanks. I saw another reviewer said the suctions cups smell strongly of chemicals so I will not bother with them if my new ones do as well!Five stars for price, but two stars off because of durability of the suction cups and glass.

you're fine.
I don't really know how accurate this is because it shows 2° higher than the stick on I have. Not a big deal since both shows my tank is on the optimal temp range. The price is also half compared to the big per stores around my area. I actually ordered a few more for my other aquariums. Will have it placed. On top and bottom of the tanks on opposite ends.Yes, the prints are small but this is also a small unit but also least the gauge is in read and the optimal temp range is highlighted green. So as long as you can see the gauge on the green, you're fine. Lol

Really good!
It's a good thermometer. It is cheap, accurate and easy to read. It suctions well to my little plastic tank. As some of the other reviews say, it's very breakable, so be careful. Mabey not the best for a tank with big fish as they could bump into it and break it. This would be dangerous because it contains red jelly like stuff that is toxic and could kill fish. They make the same one in plastic and I recommend it for bigger fish that could break this one. The stainless steel one would work too. I've been using the glass one for 2 weeks for my baby ramshorn snail. Overall, it's a really good product, just be careful not to break it.

Basic & good choice - can’t go wrong
Traditional method that will not go wrong like a digital version. Digital versions have let me down in the past or been extremely inaccurate so I would just get one of these, pop them in and you can’t go wrong. Accurate when checked against other methods, value for money & stickiness can’t be beat even after 1+ years. The ease of installation is unbeatable and can even be done by five-year-old. Performance and durability again is unbeatable as one year on, performing as well as day one and is still in mint condition apart from a little bit of algae - still doing its thing!

Funziona bene
Funziona bene ed è preciso (testato con un altro al mercurio e segnano uguale), per le persone che dicono sia troppo piccolo e non si legge, compratevi degli occhiali, io vedo perfettamente le tacche di riferimento.
