## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Make sure you are getting the right size, and definitely experiment with fittings until you find one that works for your feet.

*by C***E on July 21, 2016*

I have a pretty active lifestyle, so having sandals that stick to my feet is pretty important to me if I am going to wear them at all.I have a lot of coworkers/friends/shipmates that love their Chacos, and I always gave the toe strap a bit of a glare when I saw them.(I've always preferred Keens for active sandals.)After my third pair of keens rotted away/became unwearable, I decided to change it up and got a pair of these.Firstly, I wear these a bit smaller than I do other shoes. About half a size smaller to be precise. Before I ordered them I went into a retailer and tried them on and was surprised by the smaller size, so I would definitely check your size before you order a pair.Second, the fit. I worse these a few times and at first I regretted ever buying them. The toe strap, as I expected, was weird. It got in my way, tightened up uncomfortably, and I certainly did not like it.Then I finally figured out that I was wearing them wrong. Too tightly, as a matter of fact. Finally I got used to fitting them correctly and now I basically love them. They are a small step down from keens and other sandals that are totally slip-on and go, but the feeling of them being mechanically secure to my feet, combined with open air on my skin and a lack of horrible dank enclosed areas perfect for growing fungus makes them a 5.On that note, they haven't even started to smell yet.If you've ever worn close-toed sandals like Keens or Vibram 5 fingers, you know the funk of which I speak. It is awful. It never goes away. It is embarrassing. It is unavoidable. With chacos, the whole sole is exposed. This means that they can be scrubbed adequately, and dried fully. If they never start to stink like other outdoor sandals, I will be very, very happy.Glad I gave them a try.Make sure you are getting the right size, and definitely experiment with fittings until you find one that works for your feet.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ mile eaters

*by J***N on April 18, 2016*

Let me say first that I have just started wearing these so my review is based on my hiking partner. As far as size etc is concerned they are about spot on. I base my comfort vote on him. In the last hundred miles or so of hiking he has probably done eighty in these. While I am trying to keep my feet dry he just slogs through the creeks. All the time I am plodding along in my fancy hiking boots he is covering the miles in these. They are stiff (before break in) and can be a little difficult to adjust (the straps have to be pulled through the sole material) but I expect that by the end of Summer I will have put plenty of miles on mine. PS I was asked how I could stand the strap around my big toe. Keep in mind that this helps keep your foot from sliding forward when going down hill and is barely noticeable when properly adjusted.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Disappointed. I received these on June 15

*by S***A on August 10, 2015*

Disappointed. I received these on June 15, 2015. On August 8, 2015, I noticed that there is a tear in the footbed on the left sandal, near the big toe. I bought these because I was told, by several people, that these sandals are built to last. That has not been my experience, clearly. I contacted their customer support, and I have to pay to ship these to them. My guess is that they will repair/replace the left sandal, free of charge, and ship them back to me. Still, I'm further disappointed that I have to pay to ship the sandals to them. Also, these are extremely difficult to adjust. I literally had to use a vise grips to adjust them. I read one review where the person used soapy water, and was then able to adjust them. I may have to try that when I get them back from Chaco's repair department.
