It’s illustrated and some of the illustrations are helpful to make you understand the concepts. Good book
Good book to take along on camping or backpacking trips. Not too horribly in depth but it does touch on some important topics. I think I'll probably buy the rest of Mr. Canterbury's books. I recommend it for a good read.

The call to Trap, Gather, and Cook to survive
Just like all of Dave Canterbury's books, it gives you some good insight on different items to survive. I definitely like all of his books I have from the BUSHCRAFT. I do believe he has a great way of explaining things to me as a layperson. I know it's not the end all be all of survival and bushcrafts, however I do believe that it gives enough information, in order to survive in the wild or if something drastically happens; such as, a disaster or other environmental or governmental downfall. I like this new book, because without shelter, water, and food, you cannot survive in the wild or off the grid. In this he explains how to trap, gather, and cook what is in the wild and to know, which would be good to eat and what wouldn't. Remember, this is just a guide, it is not the end all or be all of living off grid or in the wild. I would recommend any of his books, they are an easy reads. Many Blessings, )o(CMD

They're mostly cheap. Buy 'em, store 'em & keep them as survival insurance.
They're mostly cheap. Buy 'em, store 'em & keep them as survival insurance. It would be great info (any info is extremely useful for the inexperienced, the easily stressed, and the poor memory people & just plain any emergency situation). No comments on individual quality as purchased as above as it's a quick review on about 20 ebooks I purchased, eg. I'll read them if I ever need them. If the internet still exists when the SHTF I'll let you know. Greeting from Downunder!

Dave Canterbury is the Number one teacher in his field and probably one of the most knowledgeable.
What can we say, it is a bushcraft book by Dave Canterbury. That alone will say to most people that the quality of information in this book will be second to none. Then when you read it , you are not let down. Dave Canterbury writes in a very practical way and doesn't say just do this like some authors who "Talk the talk but fail to walk the walk." The Author explains why from his experience he has come to the conclusion he has along with the history he knows from where the knowledge originated from. I was lucky to hear the author speak several times at the Bushcraft and Survival Show 2017 and when he teach in the same way as he writes and vice a versa. I cant say enough good things about all Dave Canterbury's books and recommend anyone with an interest in Nature, survival, camping or Bushcraft to read all his books.
