The Explore 60 redefines the way professional image crafters pursue their images. Its user experience is fast, simple and intuitive while its carry performance will minimize physical fatigue. Direct access to camera gear and essentials like food, water and mobile devices helps you keep moving forward with limited interruptions. Adjustable volume and floating lid lets the most demanding photographers take on serious adventure without compromising gear needs. Our modular Core Unit camera inserts let you customize your shooting experience — not only to your gear requirements, but also to the terrain ahead of you. Whether you’re camping out waiting for an epic moment or scrambling up rocky ascents, the Shimoda system allows you to choose the most efficient camera access for the situation – even on the fly. The adjustable harness with its bear hug-like fit makes sure the pack’s weight doesn’t put pressure on your shoulders and is instead distributed to your hips and front torso. Additionally, the rear panel lets air flow between your back and the pack. All of our features are built with materials and construction techniques we developed to best meet the needs of hardcore adventurers and the unpredictable environments they visit. The Nylon Carbonate Ether PU coated shell features a unique double-sided resin application process that provides exceptional water resistance from both exterior water pressure and interior condensation build-up. Because of this we are able to use much lighter core materials for both the exterior shell and interior lining. Lightweight, durable and intuitively functional, the all-new Explore 60 is an essential addition to the modern adventure photographer’s toolkit. *Explore 60 Starter Kit includes Explore 60 Backpack and 2 Small DSLR Core Units

Fancy look, poor design
Pros:+ Fancy look+ Feels comfortable to the backCons:- Poor design- Poor functionality- Can't get my 15" laptop inReview:I bought this Shimoda backpack after reading a number of praising online reviews. Now, after having it for about a year, I can only regret my choice. In reality this backpack is quite frustrating to use and on more than one occasion I had to give up and go for a trip with my 12 y.o. Lowepro backpack instead. My main issues with it were: inability to fit a 15" laptop, awkward dimensions of the gear storage and its sections and lack of appropriate storage for small equipment. Generally it feels like a "good start" for a company that never produced photo backpacks before. So you end up wrestling with it rather than enjoying it despite all the hype in the media.

Amazing backpack. Expensive to import.
Bought this to replace a Lowepro Flipside 400, and (accidentally) an F-Stop Ajna. I hadn’t planned on quitting the Ajna, but after half an hour adjusting the fit of this backpack, and another half hour testing it with a little walking, I’m sold. This fits my Fujifilm X-T2 kit AND my torso, perfectly. Its also feels lighter to wear than the other two. It’s absolutely fantastic on day-long hikes. The only downside is a lack of pockets for water bottles and flasks. There’s an excellent pouch for a hydration bladder but in mid-winter, a hot drink is far more appreciated. There IS a pull-out and very sturdy bag, that can be used for either tripod and bottle/flask holding so it’s not a complete loss, but to be honest, I’ll be using it for my tripod and carefully putting drinks in a small waterproof pouch in the very spacious compartment that I’ll use for wet-weather gear.A couple of molle attachment points would have been nice, too, but I haven’t found a need for them just yet. There is one other big downside to this backpack, unrelated to its quality, when buying in the U.K.: There is no supplier, so you’ll be hit with another government stealth tax when importing. This added around £150 to my costs when ordering this, a large icu and a medium accessory bag. Will it be worth it? I hope so. Only time will tell, but I feel very positive about this backpack and it’s so versatile it’s the first one I’ve considered doing some shopping with, too.
