I work for a restoration company and needed a inexpensive meter for survey purposes and this one does a good job.the battery that it came with was dead but the meter works.pretty accurate but if you go to a new job where the humidity is trapped and over 90% it stops working it gets overwhelmed. Overall still good for the price

But glad I purchase it after much comparisons. Still working today and seems accurate data so far. Very handy to have just in case you see or smell something off in the basement or attic. I've had and used this now for over a year.Today when I write reviews I like to do so after several months or at the most when appropriate for the use/utility of the product up to a year of ownership and performance to inform other consumers like they informed me of my purchase--when I would be relying on their reviews for quality and useful products for our house and family. Just paying it forward. Amd this one is worth the price and quality!I bought this along with a pin moisture tester and infrared meter same year last year as new homeowners. This and those others are good to always have to test your household environment for safety and prevent costly repairs. Better to be informed and have data of science in order to be prepared. :-)

We use this meter to validate the humidity in our piano. It works great. We leave it right inside the piano to insure we have at least 40% humidity so the sound board does not crack. Great price for our needs.

EDIT:Company reached out and offered to fix the issue. I asked for a batter, they sent another device + battery.Original review:Device arrived with the battery nearly dead. Low battery indicator was active. By the second day the device no longer works. Now I have to buy a 9v battery, which I don't have any of because most devices don't use 9v these days.They should really ship these things with new batteries; I am not the first reviewer to encounter this issue.

Takes too long for temp readings to settle. I have to let it sit for 10 minutes and come back to it.. The other issue is there is no way to keep the backlight on any longer than the short time it stays on when you turn the meter on. To turn the light back on you must turn the meter off and back on each time.Definately not a replacement for any hvac guys out there. Only saving grace is how cheap it is and it appears to be as accurate as it claims.

Used to test the attic temperature. Gave immediate temperature then in about 5 minutes it stopped climbing, indication that the temperature was 102 degrees. Humidity readings were changing constantly, very accurate and fast. Helpful for AC monitoring and to determine Relative Humidity (RH) for the best comfort in homes. Recommended.
