Bought this and some other CeraVe stuff (cleanser and moisturizer) for my skincare routine. I have sensitive acne prone skin so I started out only using it every other day then every day and I'm working towards using it twice a day while taking my time because the last thing I want to do is to break out. Easy to apply just squeeze a little on your skin or fingers then rub it in, your skin absorbs it and it doesn't leave any visible residue. I was itchy when I first started using it, but that most likely stems from my skin being sensitive and not used to both the products I was using, and it went away in a week anyways. If it was really bothering me I just washed it off with my cleanser but I only had to do that once. If you also have sensitive skin and it's making you itchy but it isn't getting better or is getting worse please stop using it. I only continued using it because my skins reaction to it was improving, all sensitive skin is not the same so just because my skin was able to adapt to it doesn't mean yours can or will! Has a slight smell (not particularly bad or anything imo) but after your skin absorbs it you can't smell it or it's barely noticeable. This hasn't broken me out and has been really good for managing my acne so far. If you have a strong sense of smell I recommend doing a smell test of this first just to be safe. If you have sensitive skin and are looking to buy this please look at all the reviews from others with sensitive skin (positive and negative) to get a better look of how this could affect you. 5/5 (was a 4/5 but since I am no longer itchy I raised it)

I have repurchased this acne spot gel because it is just that good!! It is one of the only treatments that will work on deep, underground acne. The price is super worth it because a tiny bit goes a long way and I swear one of these will last you a year even with regular use. It goes on completely clear. I have sensitive combination skin and it's never given me a problem/irritation. I do not have cystic acne or rosacea so I would be mindful of that, but for most folks that deal with acne it's really great.

I’ve been trying to find a replacement for the Clinique Step 3, All Over Cleaning Treatment lotion for a while now. I didn’t find the product drying at all, but I have oily-dry combination skin and also used the Acne and Line Correcting Serum from Clinique afterwards. I found that while this treatment did clear my acne scarring, it didn’t do much to get rid of pimples deep in my skin. I was actually surprised to see how quickly it sealed pimples on the surface for me, but it didn’t completely get rid of my acne. There’s actually a section of my face that has no acne scarring or pits anymore, and is a lot smoother! However, it left my skin more oily throughout the day because of my skin type not being compatible. If you have a fitting skin type and don’t have bacterial acne like I do, I’m sure it’ll work better for you! In fact, if it worked to get rid of my acne, this would’ve been perfect for me. Also, I’m not sure why it arrived like this— I’ve ordered this product twice. Once, I had to return because I found more of the cleaning treatment and had no need for this product. Then, I ordered it again to test if this product would work with my skin. Both times, the package came looking like it went through war.

I've used this for 2 years now, and haven't switched to a different acne treatment! Very effective especially on beginning stage cystic acne, (very good for cystic), my mom has also used it and found it slightly drying agter excesive use but still effective

Awesome product .. I had acne due to hormones imbalance and after applying every night it made my skin look cleaner. Obviously it took time but results were great.

Unfortunately, I did not notice much of a difference while using this CeraVe Acne Control Gel. I love a lot of CeraVe’s other skincare products, so I was hoping this would work better for me, but I didn’t really see a decrease in blemishes or pimples after consistent use. It may just be my skin type, and I’m sure it works well for others, but for me it was not worth repurchasing. That being said, I do think the ingredients are great. It contains 2% salicylic acid along with glycolic acid and niacinamide, which are all solid ingredients for acne-prone skin. I also did not experience any irritation or reactions while using it, so I do think it is gentle enough for sensitive skin. Overall, not a bad product, it just personally did not give me the results I was hoping for.

Got rid of my arm acne which I couldn't get rid of for the longest time. This is the only thing that actually helped me. I used this with benzoyl peroxide.

I received it like almost 2weeks maybe and only now I write the review to see the result. I have acne at my chin and I put this every morning and night. It slows down the acne gently and it's almost healed. I love this product that I ordered the other Cerave recommend to combine with this foe my oily face! What a lifesaver

MY BIG TIP: Head over to CeraVe's official website and take their skin quiz. It takes a few minutes and it will give you a skin care routine based on your answers. Then order those recommended products and follow the routine! I've used other acne treatments and gels before but this one has been the best by far! I've been using this for 10 nights (PM only) now and I started noticing the results in about 7 days. I'm still getting breakouts but they're really tiny and typically go away in a day or 2 since I started using CeraVe's Acne line of products. Prior to using CeraVe, my breakouts would take about a week to clear and then I'm left with dark spots that take weeks more to heal. Super happy with this one!
