Review: Dream come true for minimalists - This monitor has exactly one input connection - USB C. It powers the monitor, and does the double duty of accepting the video signal. I absolutely love that it requires no separate power cable. It weighs less than 3 pounds, comes with a slick protective case, outputs 1080p 60hz, and has a ton of display options to boot. As an amazing bonus, the back of the monitor has a 1/4" threaded mounting hole compatible with tripod style stands/arms. It's a dream come true for the minimalist who likes to travel light and keep cables to a minimum. Some caveats you'll have to accept about this monitor: 1) It's a USB display, and accepts 2 different modes: DP alt mode (USB-C to USB-C from a compatible source like thunderbolt), or USB-A to USB-C using a DisplayLink driver. It's not exactly plug and play, unless you're using the right source devices. For example, ChromeOS is fully compatible with both video modes out of the box, no driver downloads required. Base Linux only works with DP alt mode (supposedly there are DisplayLink drivers for Linux, but I was never able to get them working). Windows works with both modes, but requires a driver download if using USB-A to USB-C with DisplayLink. 2) Not every USB-C output port is the same!! This is a lesson I learned specifically from owning this monitor. Thunderbolt ports, and most laptop USB-C ports, will output the native DP alt mode signal required by this monitor. However, a basic USB-C output from your desktop PC is not a thunderbolt port, and will not work with this monitor. In the case of most desktop PCs you'll need to use the 2nd option I described above with DisplayLink drivers. 3) Using multiple of these monitors simultaneously is very finnicky. Especially if using DisplayLink driver mode. I spent more time than I'd like to admit attempting to get 2 of these working from a powered USB hub on my monitor which then connects to my desktop through USB-A and laptop through USB-C. It was a nightmare. One of them would always either turn on and off (not enough power for 2 monitors), or if I got it working the mouse movement was super janky. I ended up changing my goals and using only 1 of these, which works great. 4) Do not buy these for gaming. They are simply not intended for that usage, and you'll notice input lag. These are really intended as "productivity monitors", and not as your MAIN monitor. All of that being said, even with the major troubleshooting issues I described above, I absolutely love these and would recommend 100% for people looking for a minimalist, portable, productivity monitor. There aren't many on the market which are fully powered by USB, and in that niche market you won't find a better solution than this one. I've had 2 of these for a couple years now, and they're still going strong even after travelling on flights with me multiple times. Great little monitors.

**Q: Can you adjust the warmth on this display? Does it have night mode?**
A: The version I received differs from the images on the listing.  The buttons have been moved to the upper left side of the display.  They are extremely basic:  power, brightness, contrast.  All other adjustments are performed via the operating system and the display link drivers.  I suggest you download the most current version of the drivers directly from display link because ASUS does not include every version on their website.  It is easy to adjust warmth and night mode is generally automatic or easy enough to setup on most OS as well.  If you are connecting this display to a camera, phone, or other limited device, you are limited to brightness and contrast.

**Q: Sirve con tablet o ipad?**
A: Hola ! No te la recomiendo, para que funcione se debe instalar un controlador, y en mi caso con Windows 11 e inclusive en Windows 10, deshabilita los controladores propios de las laptop. Búscate una que sea de tipo plug and play. Usb -c. Saludos.

**Q: My asus monitor worked with my old dell laptop. but since i bought a new hp 15-dy2703dx laptop , it doesn't recognize the second monitor. any ideas?**
A: We have it working on a Dell and a Lenovo.  Make sure you have it configured for 2 monitors and make sure you have the driver loaded for it on the HP.

**Q: How do attach this to a vesa mount?**
A: Unless you determine a way to hold it, you don’t. There are no screws for VESA mounting.

This monitor has exactly one input connection - USB C. It powers the monitor, and does the double duty of accepting the video signal. I absolutely love that it requires no separate power cable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for working in bed or away from home!

I bought this before having abdominal surgery, so I could work from home in bed. (Also justified purchasing an adjustable bed, haha!) This helped so much! Because the stand is the width of the monitor, it stands up well on the bed or your lap, even if the surface is uneven or plush, like blankets. Sometimes I set both my laptop and this monitor on a wooden lap table--the table wasn't quite wide enough for both, so I just positioned the portable monitor slightly behind the laptop and used one side of it. And sometimes I used my computer directly on my lap, setting the portable off to the side on the bed next to me. It stands up really well as-is (the optional stand wouldn't work well on uneven surfaces). I also pack this for long trips sometimes, in case I want to edit the photos and videos I've been taking. It's nice to have the extra monitor for that. It's also good to have the extra monitor in countries where I don't speak the language--that way, I can do stuff on one screen and watch Netflix/Prime/whatever on the other. :-) The picture quality is good. It's not up there with my expensive laptop, but I don't expect it to be at this price. Colors aren't quite as brilliant and textures aren't quite as sharp. But I have no problem whatsoever using it for gaming, and text looks good on it. I wouldn't even notice the slightly reduced picture quality if it weren't sitting right next to my gaming laptop. I just wouldn't recommend it for high-level graphic designers, obviously. VERY lightweight and thin! The protective case is like an envelope, so packing it takes about as much room as a paper folder would. I set it against my laptop in the laptop sleeve of my bag. It doesn't weight much. My favorite part is that this doesn't need a power cord! You just attach it to your laptop with a USB-C, and that's it--no extra cords to mess with or pack. Very happy with this purchase, and I've recommended this model to several other people. I've also always had great luck with Asus computers.
