Natural Color: Vibrant Plant Dye Projects for Your Home and Wardrobe [Duerr, Sasha, Aya Brackett] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Natural Color: Vibrant Plant Dye Projects for Your Home and Wardrobe Review: A beautiful resource! - I cross-referenced this book with another lovely natural dyeing book after the walnuts started falling in our yard last month and was so happy with both of them. This book was full of delicious photography and I loved the detailed instructions for someone who was literally starting from square one. It has opened up a whole new world for me creatively and I'm so thankful that Sasha has shared her extensive knowledge and creativity with the rest of us! Review: Amazing Natural Plant Dye Resource. - Eco-friendly, well-researched, and obviously passionate, this book is a genre-changing resource for dyers who want to have it all and also protect the increasingly fragile ecosystem we create within. Full of recipes, tips and techniques, projects, and general knowledge on how to make the most out of the natural colour offerings around you for dyeing (particularly in relation to seasonability and region), this is an uncommon gift of knowledge to the dyeing, fibres, and fashion communities, and features an exceptional resource list in the back for further research and development.

Great book if you want to do non-toxic dyeing of your fabric.
Gives you a great overview of dying with plants and common materials. Color swatches are included and the book is indexed well. Almost all materials are available at a grocery store and those that are a little less common are available online

Brilliant!
Fantastic book. Beautifully written and put together, immensely helpful and insightful. She really open you up to some amazing possibilities. People like her are the reason I respect CCA so much as an art institute. I highly recommend this dye book to anyone interested in natural dyeing!

I loved that the author discusses water conservation and using invasive species and weeds in this book. The photography is absolutely beautiful and the subject matter inspiring. The one thing I wished was different was the lack of photos or examples for some of the projects / recommendations for botanical dyes. For example, passionflower, calendula, bougainvillea, wild fennel, and citrus peels are all mentioned as effective botanicals for dyeing, but the pages dedicated to those plants don't contain any photos of the color produced by them. There *is* a watercolor chart in the back of the book that attempts to replicate some of the colors that the plants produce, but based on how it represents some of the other plant dyes that I am familiar with, I'm not certain that the colors are completely accurate. (Not based on my own experience with plant dyes anyway - the colors in this palette don't seem entirely true to color to me.) It would have been nice to have had photo examples of fabrics that had actually been dyed with those plants. Overall, a really beautiful, inspiring book. Recommended for anyone who is interested in a more natural way to dye their favorite textiles.

The book contains wonderful pictures and has easy to follow recipes. It's a really good craft book. One issue that I encountered was the condition the book was in. The stars are lost because of that.

O livro traz bastante informação mas não da para ser a única fonte delas. Mas vale como complementação em seus estudos .
