The graduations and numbers are raised up against frosted background. Handle really nicely, Nest for storage. Appear to be sturdy and very good quality. We like them so much that we have ordered additional sets as gifts for our daughters. As with most measuring cups, the 8 oz cup doesn't have 1/3 and 2/3 cup markings. But adding these would have made the markings visually cluttered.
