DMC6102 Plastic Floss Bobbins, 28-Pack

I prefer using this kind of plastic bobbin to wrap up my embroidery floss. I store them sideways in a plastic organizer, so when I open it up, I can see all of the colors at the same time. I like that these have a little spot in the corner to write the thread/floss number.

I'd buy again if I need more.

These are much thinner, thus flimsier, than the first set of plastic DMC bobbins I purchased. They still do the trick and they’re better than the cardboard ones, but I really wish they were thicker.

I love my new plastic bobbins! My thread box is so neat and organized now. I didn't order enough the first time, so needed to order more immediately. My box currently still has some cardboard bobbins and you can see the difference. The plastic ones hold the thread neatly and have a space to write in the number, so it is very easy to locate the thread you need. They hold the thread tight so there aren't loose threads everywhere. The one thing to keep in mind is to use an Ultra Fine Sharpie to write in the number. A pen won't write on the plastic and the space for the number is pretty small.

It is very useful to tidy up the mess

The slits in the top are too large to grip the floss. I had to put a half hitch on to keep the floss from spooling out every time I picked up my project.

Although I’m sure many people like this mode for saving your embroidery thread, however, I find that it tends to unravel off the plastic card.

Personally I prefer the plastic bobbins over the cardboard ones that are also by DMC. The plastic ones are so much sturdier, and can even be cleaned if needed. You do need a permanent fine-tipped marker to write on them. If you use pen or non-permanent marker to write on them, I find it may rub off or fade over time.

Too many threads, not enough bobbins! I like these much more then the cardboard ones! Reduce, reuse, recycle! And I can reuse them soooooooo many more times then the card ones 😄
